The Department of Psychology, in the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences at the National University, invites applications for part-time faculty in Psychology. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of or potential for excellence in teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university's diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.
Essential Job Duties:
Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree with a focus in Psychology or related field required, PhD preferred.
Research-based, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal article publications.
Experience with the online delivery of education and the systems that support it.
Graduate level qualitative methods, quantitative methods, or statistics teaching experience preferred.
Experience as a member of a dissertation committee, preferably as the chair/advisor.

Job Responsibilities
• Develop and teach a variety courses across the Psychology curriculum.
• Construct lectures, demonstrations, assignments, and enrichment activities to successfully deliver course content in in-person and online settings

• Serve as an academic advisor and maintain regular office hours for advising students
• Actively participate in scholarship activities, including but not limited to academic research
• Attend academic unit meetings and CU faculty meetings and cooperate with faculty colleagues
• Participate in events and initiatives aimed at meeting recruitment and retention goals
• Serve on committees; sponsor student activities; attend chapel services, commencement programs, Faculty Forum and other meetings; and otherwise participate in University life
• Support the institution's Christian mission, including being a Christian role model for students
• Maintain a strong interest in the pursuit of knowledge and share it with students and scholars
• Promote the discipline on and off campus and attract students to the field
• Maintain contact with alumni and the community
• Identify with professional organizations and professionals of the discipline at all educational levels
• Assist in recruiting new Faculty members within the academic unit
• Assist the Division Chair and Department Lead in the preparation of class schedules
• Assist in the preparation of requests for foundation grants
• Assist students by continually monitoring and evaluating students' progress and making appropriate referrals to academic and personal support services, as necessary, to meet student needs
Qualifications
Terminal degree (PhD, PsyD) in Psychology or related field (ABD may be considered)
Experience teaching college-level courses in both in-person and online modalities
Practical research, clinical, or counseling experience a plus
Experience advising and/or mentoring a plus
Willingness to work collaboratively within the department and division

The Cleveland Clinic Department of Rheumatic and Immunologic Diseases is consistently among the highest ranked in the nation. The Department includes 58 physicians and 15 Advanced Practice Providers in Ohio and Florida, with services spanning 12 practice locations. Provide up-to-date undergraduate course content, mentoring for students interesting in pursuing mental health careers, and guidance in pursuing internships or UG research experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
* Ph.D. or PsyD in Psychology or related discipline.
* ABD candidates will be considered, but must have Ph.D. Or PsyD by the start date or the offer will be withdrawn.
Preferred Qualifications
* Ph.D. in psychology, particularly subfields related to clinical or developmental psychology, experience with delivering and/or developing high engagement class structures and developing/delivering online classes.
Essential Functions and percent of time:
* 80% Instruction of courses: May include evening and/or online courses.
* 20% Service: Includes serving on a departmental, college, or university committee (e.g., relating to petitions, curriculum, student conduct), attending student events (e.g., Psi Chi/Psych Club, other student groups), and/or other student interactions outside the classroom (e.g., talking with students about research/practicum opportunities on/off campus, grad school, career preparation, student success strategies).
Teaching load will be 8 course sections per academic year with releases to perform specific essential administrative functions as defined by the chair.
