Organizational Profile
PURA was established in 1959 to promote the revitalization of Pueblo. Once approved, the Urban Renewal Area's (URA's) are active for 25 years and authorize PURA to assist redevelopment projects, such as offering direct incentives to private developers or investing in public improvements.

SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Fine Arts Coordinator is to coordinate and facilitate the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, integration, and promotion of the Arts programming across fine, visual, and performing arts content and grade levels at South High School. The Coordinator will work closely with Pueblo Academy of Arts, and potentially other feeder schools to grow the Arts program at South High School. The Coordinator will support teachers in developing innovative instructional practices that foster creativity and critical thinking, preparing students for careers that incorporate fine or performing arts. The role includes program development, teacher training, and the promotion of fine and performing arts programs that engage students in interdisciplinary projects.

* Assist with the recruitment, interviewing, and supervision of fine arts faculty and staff

The Director also oversees all human resources activities for Pueblo Transit to include hiring, discipline, discharge, benefits administration of approximately 45 employees, and union negotiations with the Amalgamated Transit Union.
