Perform polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and make adjustments if necessary. Document routine observations. Implement appropriate interventions, including therapeutic interventions such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, and interventions necessary for patient's safety such as oxygen administration. Score sleep / wake stages and clinical events by applying professionally accepted guidelines and lab protocols; generate accurate reports by tabulating data. Follow “lights on” procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process. Educate and coach patients through the duration of the study. Clean masks and hoses after studies, inform day techs if equipment needs maintenance or supplies are running low. Participate in AASM interscorer reliability program once / month. PAR is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to support PAR's Pulmonary Clinic at our PAR locations. The position is responsible for providing medical care as delegated by the supervising physician(s) in the field of pulmonary medicine. Specifically, the provision of primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting following established standards and practices. This is a PRN position for evenings and Saturdays. The selected incumbent will work hours as needed with no benefits. Reports to: CEO Direct Reports: None Job Responsibilities for the PRN Advanced Practice Clinician Assesses patient health status including state of wellness and compliance with care plan. Determines and performs and/or prescribes appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Provides acute and chronic patient care including taking histories, completing physical examinations, completing patient assessments and formulation of medical care planning to complete patient care including writing of medication prescriptions as appointed by Virginia law and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency. Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems. This includes the administration of medications and injections in compliance with applicable federal and state law as well as clinic guidelines. Conduct rounds on PAR patients as appropriate. Qualifications for the PRN Advanced Practice Clinician: Minimum of three years professional NP/PA experience is preferred. Nurse Practitioner: Must maintain NP licensure and NP Board Certification. Current BLS or ACLS certification. Physician Assistant: Must maintain PA licensure. ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office/exam room settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical preparations, and other conditions common to clinic environments. Frequent contact with a variety of people. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS : Standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, some lifting. Requires ability to help transfer patients. Occasional stress from dealing with multiple tasks and tense patients. Requires full range of motion, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
