Purpose and Scope
The Senior QC Development and Technical Analyst is a technical leader within QC with a primary role in supporting the life cycle of chemistry methods. Responsibilities include supporting Analytical Development in method development, validation and transfer activities, performing suitability testing on compendial methods, and supporting ongoing testing for all non-commercial stability testing. Function as SME for transferred methods and support training of QC personnel. Support QC management in ensuring all QC activities which will be transferred to QC remain compliant with cGMP requirements. Function as a QC leader in continuous improvement and support the business needs of the department. Perform complex testing of raw materials, intermediate and finished product testing as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Function as a subject matter expert for the QC department consistently demonstrating the professional expectations of the department. This includes adherence to compliance, time management, commitment to collaboration with all personnel, effective communication both written and verbal, and embrace challenges with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Expertise in performing analyses on a variety of samples using advanced preparation techniques analysis methods and instrumentation.
Provide mentorship to QC analysts in all aspects of analyses performed within the QC chemistry laboratory including but not limited to documentation, procedures, regulations, technical understanding and method troubleshooting best practices.
Accountable for proper use, care, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
Requires the ability to write clear and effective scientific documents and requires the ability to review complex and technical documents.
Performs high level method transfers and leads the department in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies. Collaboration with Analytical Development during method development requiring effective communication of commercial QC challenges to ensure validated methods are compatible with commercial testing, previous CAPAs and regulations.
Support investigations, provide technical guidance, and perform investigational testing.
Provide scientific recommendations to management/technical writers regarding QC procedures requiring the ability to collect recommendations, identify essential steps, ensure the appropriate changes are made, and serve as a technical reviewer for document updates to ensure correct changes are made with scientifically sound justification.
Prioritizes tasks and performs job duties with minimal guidance from management. Works to complete tasks in an efficient manner and is a productive member of the department. Contributes to a highly productive environment by avoiding distractions.
Support adherence to department budget by identifying alternative cost-saving and compliant materials and equipment during the method development process, where appropriate.
Will represent the department by providing accounts and results of method transfer activities and assist with troubleshooting aberrant method transfer results. Understand method development principles (accuracy, robustness, precision, etc.) and provide technical expertise to determine root cause of aberrant method transfer results.
Leads implementation of change and demonstrate leadership aptitude in technical functions.
Provide support to the department leadership with the implementation of new systems, and continuous improvement efforts. Generates new ideas to create efficiencies and improve processes; willingly supports new ideas and process enhancements. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Advanced knowledge and application of government regulations for drugs or medical devices including GMP, GLP and ICH and their application to laboratory testing and review processes and procedures.
Advanced knowledge in the use of USP, NF and other compendia.
Highly proficient use of analytical laboratory instruments such as HPLC, FTIR, FTNIR, GPC, GC, and UV-Vis spectrophotometers.
Knowledge of computer systems for sample tracking, laboratory equipment, raw data handling and storage.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline, preferably in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
Master's degree preferred
6 or more years of experience in an QC pharmaceutical analytical laboratory position with an emphasis and experience in developing methods using advanced techniques and skilled with complex testing.
Working Conditions
Laboratory setting. Will be exposed to solvents, bio-hazardous materials, hazardous waste, and pharmaceuticals.
Must be adaptable to shifting priorities and operate with a sense of urgency while maintaining high quality in order to meet important timelines in a high throughput lab.
Business demands may present a need to work extended hours.

This role is instrumental in ensuring the BHS scope is completed as designed and expected, and will work closely with another quality inspector to review design documents and inspect field installation of the BHS system.
We are specifically looking for a professional with hands-on experience inspecting electrical systems and process control systems for conveying/transport systems. Prior BHS experience is ideal-however, experience from industrial manufacturing environments manufacturing facilities can translate extremely well to this role.
This position will primarily be on the day shift, with flexibility required as construction activities may drive off-hour and night inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Review project documents including construction drawings, submittals, shop drawings, and approved installation methods related to the BHS installation.
Verify BHS components received onsite are supplied and installed in accordance with construction documents, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and Certificate of Compliance requirements.
Perform shop inspections when needed to confirm compliance and readiness for installation.
Verify electrical installation is completed in accordance with approved documents and related RFIs, including:
Main power and control power
Motors, conveyors, and BHS control systems
Inspect and validate process control systems supporting BHS operations, including control devices and logic-driven conveying systems.
Perform required site inspections and complete Quality Control Inspection Reports in ACC.
Prepare Quality Reports in ACC for night shift inspections, ensuring required inspection scope is understood and executed by night inspectors.

Attend meetings and inspections with DEN Operations (Log Plan) and prepare special reports for distribution with the project team.

Participate in planned temporary mock-up installations, including conveyor system electrical and control device installation.
Provide extensive coordination between contractor personnel/activities and owner representatives to ensure BHS systems are installed correctly and operate as expected.
Communicate clearly and professionally (written and verbal) to support issue resolution and maintain alignment across the team.
Support other quality-related activities as requested.

Previous work experience with baggage handling systems (BHS) (highly preferred)

The
Design of Inorganic Materials Lab
, in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wyoming, led by Prof. de Sousa Oliveira is accepting applications for a postdoctoral researcher with experience in modeling polaron transport.
Band conduction is the typical mode of conduction for inorganic materials. However, in polar and ionic solids, local lattice distortions can lead to (localized) polaron conduction. We aim to investigate if polaron hopping is a suitable conduction mechanism for thermoelectricity in MOFs. This work is supported by the Department of Energy through an Early Career Research Program Award.
The position is for a 1-year contract renewable for at least up to 2 years. We are looking for someone who can begin immediately.

The
PLM Analyst (Polarizing Light Microscope)
prepares and analyzes environmental samples according to scientific methodology in compliance with company Quality Assurance programs and SOP's. Sample analyses include but are not limited to air/bulk asbestos samples. The analyst will validate and review data for accuracy and will upload laboratory data into the LIMS that ultimately generates required reports to clients. Schedules sample workload according to due dates and sample hold times. Analysts will be trained according to current methodologies using job specific testing and equipment.
Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Login, prepare, and analyze environmental samples for asbestos.
Accurately enters and reports sample descriptions and analytical data using LIMS.
Performs independent QC analysis for other analysts' work.
Performs analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples. And other quality control samples as needed.
Maintains client service and provides technical support as needed.
Assists the QA manager in development, implementation and collection of QA processes for the different analytical tests.
Performs and completes all analytical testing QA related tasks as needed.
Assists in pursuing, receiving and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.
Co-ordinates projects according to their rush status and due time for timely delivery.
Assists co-workers on analytical questions, as necessary.
Follows company policies and procedures and ensures that coworkers are doing the same.
Manages and disposes analyzed samples as needed.
Trains new asbestos or other analytical testing Analysts as needed.
Performs root cause analysis and determines and implements corrective actions for errors and issues as necessary.

Nucor Steel - Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lab Technician III - Chemistry Lab. The Lab Technician III - Chemistry Lab plays a critical role in supporting Melt Shop operations by ensuring the integrity of testing, performing timely and accurate chemical analyses of steel samples, evaluating internal billet quality through macro-etch sampling, and maintaining testing equipment. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, testing steel and slab samples for the EAF, LMF, VTD, and Caster while maintaining the Chemistry Lab and equipment. Other tasks include preparing and evaluating macro-etch billet samples. Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Steel Nebraska will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
