The Paint QC Technician performs paint repairs, coatings, and quality control checks on finished vehicles. This includes bodywork, sanding, spraying, blending, and ensuring paint applications meet quality standards in a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities: * Understand and carry out verbal and written directions in English. * Close attention to detail. * Function with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision. * Apply base coat, clear coat, and spot blend to vehicles (Paint Application) * Perform bodywork (Bondo), sanding, buffing, glazing, and blending to ensure smooth surfaces (Paint Repairs) * Use paint-related tools including DA Sanders, Orbital Buffers, Spray Guns, and Pneumatic Grinders (Tool Operation). * Seal all seams and prepare all products properly. * Inspect finished paint jobs for proper surface condition, color match, and finish quality (Quality Control). * Meet production schedules while maintaining high quality. * Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day to day basis. * Follow safety protocols, including hazardous waste disposal and proper equipment use * Meet minimum standards of 5S per assigned department. Qualifications: * Minimum 1 year in automotive paint application and repair. * Must have experience of paint repairing: repairing dents, scratches, patching holes, etc. * Proficient with paint tools and spray systems. Physical Requirements: * Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40#'s without assistance. * Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions. * Ability to work with arms above head. * Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding. * Ability to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks.) * Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards. * Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery. * Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. * Ability to work in 105-degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day. * Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions. * Ability to pass a spirometry test. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
