We are looking for a dedicated Lab Technician to prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. This role is responsible for applying approved microbiological techniques and methodologies to ensure quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing.
Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc.
Independently pursue an assigned series of processes, procedures, or tasks in accordance with policies/procedures and customer requirements.
Maintain laboratory condition, including equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures.
Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
Share information in an open and timely manner.
Essential Skills
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Proficiency in aseptic techniques.
Knowledge in microbiology, chemistry, and biology.

About the Role:
The QA Tech III role at the Manawa location is a senior-level quality assurance role responsible for leading quality initiatives and compliance throughout the plant. You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
· Manage new quality initiatives, conduct in-depth consumer complaint investigations, prepare detailed reports, and present complaint trends to management.
· Participate in GFSI, regulatory, and customer audits, including document preparation, on-site assistance, and follow-ups for food safety and quality programs.
· Analyze and report on data for HACCP, food safety, sanitation effectiveness, environmental swabs, and traceability, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
· Facilitate company-wide quality and safety training sessions, including toolbox talks, classroom instruction, and Alchemy platform modules.
· Support lab and inspection operations, including helping cover other lab benches
Important Details: This is a full-time permanent role on 1st shift, Monday - Friday, hours can vary based on business need.
The starting salary for this role is $26.95 per hour

This role is to serve as a key member of Microbial Daily Management program, including daily sampling of converting lines and ancillary equipment. Role has a complete understanding of the Quality System and assist in the implementation of any new systems or validations as required. Position is responsible for incoming material identification testing of raw or intermediate materials. Position takes daily direction from Quality Control Laboratory Lead but reports to the Quality Control Manager.
Essential Functions:
Understand and perform work in accordance with the Quality Management System
Perform daily activities of the Micro, Analytical and Odor labs; including but not limited to:
Aseptically processing Raw, Intermediate, and Finished Products samples for applicable microbial tests
Reading microbial test results and performing selective or differential tests as needed
Completing data reviews and release of formulations for production
Maintain laboratory inventory of supplies and reporting needs to Laboratory Lead
Troubleshooting, maintaining and calibrating equipment, such as:
pH meter - pH levels
FTIR - Identification of raw materials for release
UV/VIS spectrophotometer- Identification and quantification
HPLC - Quantitation of active ingredients, preservatives, etc.
All new equipment as required by project
Assist in the training and qualification of new Quality ControlTechnicians
Leading investigations of corrective actions or out of specification results
Assisting in validation efforts and system improvement or reviews
Use and understand quality software to interpret run charts and ensure test result accuracy, communicating results to Quality Control Manager or Laboratory Lead to ensure minimal process variation
Follow Good Laboratory Practices as appropriate and document all work in accordance with standard operating procedures
Proper handling and disposal of chemicals and understanding the HMIS codes
Perform problem-solving functions when called upon.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Microbiology, Biology or related science degree
Working knowledge of FDA/cGMP/GLP
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biology or related science degree

Detail/Pack technicians currently work in pairs. They read shop orders to ensure the products have been completed correctly, clean laminate table tops, trim the edges, and pack onto a pallet.
Packaging
Technicians must be able to wrap and band skids, build crates, v-board, and stretch wrap.
Successful candidates will ensure the quality of the product, maintain a clean and safe working environment, be able to use a tape measure, band saw, and chop saw.
Qualified candidates will be highly motivated, inquisitive team players. Training will be provided on equipment but previous experience with manufacturing machines/equipment is preferred. Successful completion of a drug screen will be required.

This position will teach using the curriculum and competencies developed by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council. Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04 with pay starting from $30.01/hour - $35.06/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.
This position may receive supplemental (add-on) pay adjustments for additional credits relevant to the position. This add-on ranges from $0.97/hour to $2.97/hour of additional pay, based on relevant credits and professional development actions, as allowed in Section A (4.12) of the Compensation Plan.

SUMMARY
This mid-level position is responsible for performing analytical testing for chemical attributes of raw materials and finished products using defined methods and procedures. This testing is done to show compliance with specifications and to ensure the quality of materials. Test methods are of higher complexity than the methods performed by Quality Control Chemist I and require a broader understanding of analytical chemistry and a variety of instrumentation. This position will also assist in investigating testing/method issues, as well as OOS investigations. Quality Control Chemist IIs will also participate in a wide scope of laboratory projects under the direction of a more experienced chemist or supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform testing of raw materials and finished products. This testing will consist of wet chemistry and analytical chemistry techniques.
Set up, adjust, and operate several types of laboratory instrumentation - HPLC, HPLC-MS, GC-FID, GC-MS, ICP, UV-Vis, HPTLC, FTIR, and TOC, among others.
Perform sample preparation procedures using several techniques such as: extraction, sonication, solvent evaporation, dilution, and filtration.
Perform analytical testing according to written SOP's. Testing is performed with precision, accuracy, and completed on time.
Review and write laboratory documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Peer review and approval of documentation for compliance with SOPs and written specifications.
Interpret, report, and review test results from contract laboratories.
Maintain neat, accurate, and complete records such that they are defendable through an audit.
Perform calibration, verification, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Report final test results in the computerized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Operate several types of computerized data handling systems.
Initiate and lead OOS investigation when test results do not comply with specifications.
Effectively communicate with multiple departments within the organization.
Consult with other laboratory staff when issues with test methods arise.
Revise existing SOPs when needed.
Troubleshoot and solve problems encountered with methods and instrumentation.
Assist in method transfers and method validation.
Perform annual instrument qualifications.
Contribute to projects under the direction of a more experienced chemist or supervisor.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
Show ability to train new chemists.
Perform other laboratory-related duties or tests as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS

The Process Tech is a lead role responsible for ensuring that production rates and quality standards meet or exceeds customer expectations and/or requirements. These results are attained by continually seeking to improve the process to meet company KPI's and ensure smooth and efficient production operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thorough understanding of the rotational molding process, including secondary operations, and demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot issues that arise within any production process.
Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Dedicates approximately 20% of day performing in process inspection on production parts.
Dedicates approximately 10% of day performing administrative tasks. An example of this would be interacting with the ERP System and updating daily metric boards on the production floor.
Leads process improvement initiatives aimed at meeting company objectives (KPI's as it relates to safety, quality, delivery and cost).
Has the appropriate level of continuous improvement knowledge to successfully train others in continuous improvement activities.
Has the knowledge and ability to effectively train others in all aspects of the rotational molding process, including secondary operations, and give feedback to manufacturing employees.
Sets up processing parameters for changes to product on the machines and ensures product is made to customer specifications.
Is heavily involved in new projects and project set-up, successfully interacting and working closely with engineering and the quality manager.
Has the knowledge and qualifications to perform general job duties of the machine and secondary operators as needed to ensure smooth operations (covering breaks or absences).
Gives appropriate work direction to shop floor employees.
May be asked to work other shifts besides normal work shift.
Become forklift certified.
Be a champion of shop floor safety, always pursuing safe equipment, work practices, and behaviors.

Detail/Pack technicians currently work in pairs. They read shop orders to ensure the products have been completed correctly, clean laminate table tops, trim the edges, and pack onto a pallet.
Packaging
Technicians must be able to wrap and band skids, build crates, v-board, and stretch wrap.
Successful candidates will ensure the quality of the product, maintain a clean and safe working environment, be able to use a tape measure, band saw, and chop saw.
Qualified candidates will be highly motivated, inquisitive team players. Training will be provided on equipment but previous experience with manufacturing machines/equipment is preferred. Successful completion of a drug screen will be required.
