Summary:
The Media Process Technician I works as part of a team to manufacture dehydrated and liquid cell culture media.
The technician follows batch record instructions, weighs raw materials ranging from micrograms to kilograms, calibrates equipment, operates milling equipment, performs sterile filtration, and completes media manufacturing tasks.
Responsibilities also include performing standard product testing (osmolality, pH, turbidity) and working closely with cross-functional groups such as R&D, procurement, quality, process technology, marketing, as well as internal/external customers and vendors.
Responsibilities
Stage and compound raw materials within specified weight tolerances (micrograms to kilograms).
Perform milling, blending, aseptic liquid filling, and process control monitoring.
Follow GMP and departmental procedures to manufacture dehydrated and liquid culture media according to production schedules.
Complete all required documentation neatly, accurately, and in compliance with GMP.
Perform cleaning, inspection, calibration, and assist in equipment maintenance; maintain logs and records.
Troubleshoot equipment issues.
Handle raw materials following GMP and Safety requirements.
Use laboratory and production equipment (pipettors, balances, osmometer, turbidimeter, pH meters).
Work safely to maintain an injury-free and incident-free workplace.
Carry out assigned responsibilities under supervision.
Promote a positive team environment through effective communication and engagement.
Work overtime when required.
Perform other duties as assigned to support business goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
BS in Chemistry or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
Minimum 6 months of experience in a high-paced chemistry lab or manufacturing environment.

Under the direction of the Director of Plating Process Engineering, the Plating Process Technician provides support to the engineering teams in the plating area, including assisting with wet etch process, preparing and maintaining recipes, reviewing and documenting process or procedures, and expediting and dispositioning prototype wafers; maintains process controls using Statistical Process Control (SPC), collects and analyzes data, and recommends corrective action. This position is located in Milpitas, California.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides support to the engineering teams in the plating, wet etch, and stripping process areas
Supports the plating, wet etch, and stripping processes by preparing, maintaining, and setting up recipes to ensure an efficient and consistent process
Reviews and documents processes and procedures; partners with engineering to implement changes effectively
Expedites and dispositions prototype wafers in the plating, wet etch and stripping areas
Assists engineers to run plating process development experiments, collects and analyzes data, and recommends corrective action if required
Reviews and maintains process controls using SPC and prepares charts and graphs
Assists with routine trouble-shooting and resolves basic process-related issues
Participates in and recommends modifications to procedures or processes in support of continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborates with Engineering to qualify or approve new processes or procedures
Creates reports, charts, or graphs on an ad-hoc or routine basis
Prepares daily pass down report for engineers, next shift plating process technicians, and manufacturing plating technicians
Responds to inquiries from other team members, managers, or departments
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level*
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in Electronics or Industrial Technology and/or equivalent relevant experience
Two years of experience working in the semiconductor industry
Knowledge of plating, wet processes and procedures
Hands on experience using metrology tools such as pH meter, Tencor Thickness Profiler, XRF, and B-H loop tools
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of semiconductor or hard disk drive (HDD) principles and processes
Knowledge and ability to use SPC to maintain process controls
Knowledge of plating, wet processes and procedures

The hourly rate for this full-time position is between $25.00-$40.00 + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Plating Process Technician works primarily in an indoor environment on A shift which is Monday thru Wednesday and every other Thursday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. Works in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. May be exposed to hazardous conditions, chemicals, fumes, and/or gases during the course of work day; Stands and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. Must be able to load and unload various wet etch chemical solutions several times per shift. May be required to push, pull, or lift up to 25 pounds.

Overview
The Inspector, as part of CAES's Quality Assurance Group in San Jose, CA, is responsible for incoming mechanical and piece part inspection for MIL-STD-38534 microwave hybrid circuits. The position requires working closely with Production, Engineering, and Purchasing, with a focus on incoming inspection. In order to do so, we expect the person in this role to partner with fellow inspectors and their direct supervisor. Previous machining experience is a plus. You will be working with an inspection team whose purpose is preventing defective materials and parts from being used in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* Follow inspection plan documents to verify acceptance or rejection of parts and materials
* Interpret Documents and Drawings per ASME Y14.5 for inspection requirements
* Use of mechanical inspection tools to measure machined & plated parts with complex geometries and fine tolerances
* Perform first article inspection on machined & plated parts in accordance with AS9102 industry requirements
* Evaluate test or analysis data against specifications to determine acceptance
* Interpret workmanship standards and identify visual defects and anomalies
* Perform various types of data entry as part of product acceptance completion or job tracking
* Maintain accurate & detailed inspection records
* Communicate effectively with supervision and internal customers in person, on the phone, and through email
* Proactively address and resolve issues
Qualifications
Minimum:
* High school Diploma/GED
* 1+ years' experience with low & high power microscope inspection, basic dimensional inspection tools: drop gages, plug & block gages, calipers, vernier micrometers
* 1+ years' experience reading and interpreting documents and drawings
* Experienced with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
Preferred:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Detail-oriented mind-set
* Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* 1+ years' experience performing and reporting first article inspections in accordance with AS9102 industry requirements
* Ability to obtain & maintain a US DoD Security Clearance
* Be able to work OT as needed
* Familiar with ERP systems such as SAP
* Desired Experience/Certifications:
* Machine Tool Technology (MTT) or Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T) formal training or certification
* Experience utilizing Net-Inspect first article software
* CMM programming experience using CMM-Manager software
* Experience inspecting various part types including machined chassis and housings used for electronic or microwave assemblies in aerospace applications
Salary Range: $22.00 - $25.00 hourly (Level I). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
