Quality Inspector is responsible for examining materials for quality, defects, and workmanship.
Responsible for:
Performing both in-process and/or final inspections on wire and cable harnesses in accordance with Celltron documented quality plan and other referenced accept/reject criteria.
Be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution.
Able to identify and provide disposition of nonconforming material per procedure.
Provide traceability of product, material and calibration of products.
Obtain the following required certifications:
IPC J-STD-001 Solder as required
IPC/WHMA-A-620 Acceptability requirement
ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) certification
Accurately record results of inspection and testing results.
Perform additional Quality department duties as assigned or as needed.
Report directly to the Quality Engineer or Quality Manager.
Skills/Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communications skills,
Familiarity with basic inspection tools. (Calipers, scales/rulers, microscopes, form boards, protractor).
Basic knowledge and understanding on how to read blueprints,
Strong knowledge of basic mathematical operations and be able to perform measurement conversions.
Basic computer skills.
Prior cable building experience or manufacturing experience.
Able to manage time and attendance to meet deadlines or production goals.
A willingness to be a positive part of a team to accomplish individual and team goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in compliance with AS9102 standards.
Utilize Net-Inspect to generate and manage FAI documentation (preferred).
Interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications to verify product conformance.
Conduct in-process, final, and receiving inspections on aerospace components and assemblies.
Identify, document, and report non-conformances in accordance with quality procedures.
Verify calibration status of inspection equipment and tools prior to use.
Interface with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance.
Maintain accurate and thorough inspection records in accordance with AS9100D quality standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Proven capability to work directly with departmental groups to create and maintain weekly management reports to highlight key quality issues that require action.
Review AkroFire's purchase orders for S.Q.R. requirements.
Drive key quality performance metrics: DPPM, OTD, Cost of Quality, Customer Scorecards, Internal Audit Risk and Effectiveness, Supplier Performance, Contract Review.

Support the Quality Engineer with technical and administrative activities.

Job Specifications:
Education: Requires a High School Diploma/GED or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements only.
Years' Experience: Two (2) plus years working in an aerospace or manufacturing inspection environment
Skills:
2-5 years of experience in Quality Inspection within the aerospace or defense manufacturing industry.
Strong background in First Article Inspection (FAI) processes, with AS9102 experience.
Experience with Net-Inspect or similar digital FAI systems (preferred).
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, GD&T, and other technical documentation.
Familiarity with AS9100D (or ISO9001-2015) Quality Management System requirements.
Strong understanding of inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
Excellent visual and mechanical aptitude, with a keen eye for detail and dimensional accuracy.
Proficient in MS Office and quality management software systems.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Effective verbal and written communication in English language. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Experience with PDM and Epicor a plus.
Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Quality Inspector will inspect critical parts in each department to confirm they are within a desired specification. They will evaluate and investigate root cause for deficiencies. The Quality Inspector will assist the Quality Manager to make sure protocols are met, and at times, processes are implemented to ensure we produce the highest quality product.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Reads and interprets customer specifications in comparison to drawings and production output.
Assist the Quality Manager in reducing rework and eliminating waste.
Inspects parts to confirm no issues are present.
Assist the Quality Manager and maintain all quality control documentation are being followed in accordance with company standards.
Conduct a root cause analysis to determine future steps with Quality Manager that need to be taken on effected part.
Assist the Quality Manger in any other projects being worked on for the betterment of the company.
Any other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years' experience as a quality inspector or in the manufacturing industry
Knowledge of all fire truck systems and functions.
Experience with weld inspection
EDUCATION:

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is in a general shop and sometimes outside, and it has access to all welfare facilities. In some cases, the temperature can be warmer or colder depending on the season. Most of the hazards come from machines but following proper procedures should minimize risk. This position will be exposed to the elements and will have to prepare themselves with the right equipment to ensure safety.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires standing and walking for the majority of the shift. During shifts, some projects require the use of feet, hands, and fingers for over 60 minutes at a time. Depending on the season, different protective apparel will be required. The use of knees, legs, back, shoulders, and arms can vary from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. This position requires reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to complete job tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, and good depth perception. All positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds.
