Inspect products and monitor operating procedures at all phases of production run to ensure SOP's and GMP's are correctly followed Collect samples from required areas of the plant and transfer samples to the laboratory Verify internal temperatures of products Perform preoperational evaluation on all processing rooms, equipment and facilities to ensure SOP's are being followed Auditing incoming raw materials and outgoing products; i.e., check temperatures, packaging, label of product etc. Perform thermometer calibration according to SOP's Fill out paperwork: i.e., preoperational evaluation records, product information, operational evaluation record etc. Monitor production personnel to ensure employee hygiene practices are being followed correctly Verify the calibration of production instruments: i.e., metal detector and scales Quality Controls Safety Teamwork Other duties deemed necessary by management Prepare sample and incubation media for microbiological test Perform chemical analysis: i.e., APC, Listeria, Salmonella, Coliform, Yeast and Mold Verify QA paperwork: i.e., pre shipment review, product information, product formulation log, injection and tumble record, etc. Maintain cleanliness of laboratory. Performs vessel inspections under the direct supervision of a Senior Inspector. Effectively communicates all aspects of assigned job duties. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department, terminals, and vessel to avoid delays or conflicts. Obtains, labels and transports samples to the laboratory in a timely manner as required by each specific job assignment. Maintains assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensures equipment is properly calibrated and stored. Measures (gauge and temperature) products and performs all required field calculations per the API Standards, completes all required field documentation and submits reports to the Operations Department in a timely manner. Performs specialized inspection services such as loss control, wall washings or confined space entry upon receiving required training. Assists in the training of Probationary and Junior Inspectors.
