Full-time Description
Summary/Objective The Quality Inspector will provide quality control and assurance throughout all phases of the production process beginning with raw materials and ending with the final product.
Essential Functions
· Daily On-Site Attendance.
· Performs assigned, routine visual inspections and other specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
· Tests, inspects, and approves raw materials based on established quality specifications.
· Uses observation and testing to identify faults in materials and manufacturing process.
· Uses statistical methods to test product samples to evaluate quality of full product batch prior to delivery to clients or customers.
· Compares results of inspections and tests to company's quality standards; reports results to supervisor for final analysis and action steps.
· Develops, maintains, and posts logs, charts, and forms detailing quality levels, inspection data, and results of special quality studies for review by line mechanics, supervisors, and other production staff.
· Consults with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.
· Maintains quality records as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm. However, depending on workload there may be occasional longer days and occasional weekends as needed. Employee is expected to work the hours necessary in order to timely and satisfactorily complete all necessary work tasks.

Education and Experience

Traceability:
Verify that received materials meet procurement standards and that mill certifications with heat numbers are appropriately assigned.
Ensure parts and assemblies are correctly identified throughout production.
Manage and discard materials that do not comply with the QMS.
Document Control:
Scan and upload documents into facility software systems.
Use mobile wireless devices to track parts and products according to QMS protocols.

Quality Technician 1 Pay: $21.10/hour Shift: Rotating shifts; 7am - 3pm; 3pm - 11pm; 11pm - 7am; rotate every four weeks.
While reporting to the Lab Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality expectations of every customer, both internal and external, are met or exceeded. Job Summary:
This role ensures the integrity of steel fabrication processes and final products by adhering to the Quality Management System (QMS). This role is responsible for conducting inspections, maintaining document control, and verifying product quality. Ability to work full-time onsite at the McGregor, TX facility, with a proactive mindset focused on efficiency and problem-solving in a multinational setting.
Responsibilities:
Perform visual inspections of in-process and finished structural steel components, such as beams, columns, plates, and clips, ensuring they meet quality standards and project specifications.
Evaluate welds for compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) standards and identify any non-conformities for rework or further testing.
Use non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, such as liquid penetration testing, when necessary to detect defects.
Document inspection results, including corrections, and maintain logs for final QC reports and Quality Dossiers.
Ensure that parts and assemblies are properly marked with legible identification at each stage of production.
Use micrometers and tape measures to ensure that fabricated parts and assemblies conform to design specifications.
Mark non-conforming items and communicate necessary repairs.
Oversee dimensional control processes that align with the production workflow.
Verify that received materials meet procurement standards and that mill certifications with heat numbers are appropriately assigned.
Ensure parts and assemblies are correctly identified throughout production.
Manage and discard materials that do not comply with the QMS.
Scan and upload documents into facility software systems.
Use mobile wireless devices to track parts and products according to QMS protocols.
Maintain updated drawings and distribute revisions to production stations, removing outdated versions.
Record and communicate inspection data, including findings and photos, to management.
Verify that the tools and equipment used in production are calibrated and in good working condition.
Work with team members to identify quality improvement opportunities.
Participate in meetings to discuss QC processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality control inspection, ideally in structural steel fabrication. Experience with AISC, AWS, or CWB certifications is a plus.
Certifications: AWS or ISO certifications are desirable. NDT certification (Level 1, 2, or 3) must be obtained within six months of hire.
Education:A technical degree in welding, steel materials, or a related field is preferred.

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Office of Inspector General (OIG) is the independent law enforcement agency dedicated to maintaining the safety and security of the Texas juvenile justice system.
It has statutory responsible to investigate criminal allegations involving TJJD juveniles, employees, facilities, contractors, volunteers or programs within the Texas juvenile justice system.
OIG inspectors general oversee criminal investigations and possess all the power and duties granted to peace officers under the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
Their authority extends to parole officers and facilities operating under contract with TJJD.
Specialized inspectors employed by the OIG investigate allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation by staff against justice-involved youth at both the state and county levels.
The OIG also provides security at gatehouses, controlling the ingress and egress of all personnel and vehicles.
Additionally, they are responsible for detecting and intercepting contraband to prevent its introduction into secure facilities operated by the TJJD.
The OIG operates the 24-hour Incident Reporting Center (IRC), serving as the reporting and clearinghouse for the Texas juvenile justice system.
The IRC receives and documents allegations of criminal and administrative misconduct including fraud, waste, abuse, neglect, and exploitation related to juveniles, facilities, and programs under the jurisdiction of the TJJD.
Criminal analysts employed by the OIG compile and submit reports regarding criminal and administrative investigations and OIG operations to the TJJD board members, the legislature, and other state agencies.
They also monitor compliance with the TJJD Use of Force Plan.
Performs investigative law enforcement supervisory work.
Serves as a commissioned peace officer for the Office of Inspector General at the Juvenile Justice Department.
