The Field Research Specialist is a dual-role position that combines field-based clinical research engagement, technical expertise in medical device support, and on call, bedside clinical support. This individual serves as a critical bridge between research operations, clinical trial execution, and procedural/device support.
This individual will be responsible for driving clinical trial enrollment, retention, and building trusted partnerships with investigators, coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams. They will optimize patient safety, mitigate trial enrollment barriers, and ensure robust data integrity. Collaborating cross-functionally with JNJ Heart Recovery stakeholders and leveraging strong relationships with clinical site personnel including physicians, nurses, and clinical research specialists, the FRS supports site selection and startup, drives patient recruitment, ensures protocol and data compliance, provides on call bedside technical/device support for clinical procedures, supports challenging technical/protocol troubleshooting scenarios, critical software or product testing, and site closeouts.
As a subject matter expert on clinical trial protocol and technologies, the Field Research Specialist acts a liaison between Abiomed and the medical community, constantly communicating important information to investigators and customers - and parlaying clinical trial experience, knowledge, and feedback (“Voice of Investigator”) to Abiomed cross-functional partners such as R&D, medical affairs, marketing, sales, and education.
JOB DUTIES
Provides field support for clinical research related enrollment and procedures.
Serve as a technology, protocol and clinical trial procedure expert and resource Abiomed stakeholders, physicians, and research personnel at the site.
Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of clinical trial sites.
Understand and assess investigators' interests and qualifications.
Identify appropriate investigators as defined by study-specific requirements and by the applicable regulatory code.
Maintain open communication and relationships with key site personnel including the Principal Investigator, Research Coordinator, as well as regulatory and legal personnel.
Proactively and critically examine ways to enhance overall clinical trial performance.

laboratory of Dr. Kenneth Lee, in Hershey, PA is seeking applications for a new NIH-funded Researcher position to study mechanisms and regulation of membrane transport at structural and functional levels.
Ion channels, transporters and receptors connected to neurological disorders, metabolic diseases and cancer are principal areas of focus. We apply interdisciplinary approaches to investigate their structure, dynamics and function in situ and in vitro.
We are looking for driven and responsible individuals with a doctorate degree in biochemistry, biophysics, neuroscience, molecular genetics, cell biology, chemistry or related fields. A track-record of productivity is required. Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, a broad curiosity and a passion for discovery. Expertise in membrane protein biochemistry, cell imaging, electrophysiology, single molecule biophysics, molecular dynamics, cryo-EM/ET or X-ray crystallography will be a plus but not required.
The Researcher will conduct research under the general guidance of the principal investigator and exhibits the ability to plan and implement experiments and analyze their results. They will perform a variety of routine experimental techniques in molecular biology, cell biology and/or biochemistry. They must be willing to respond promptly and accurately to inquiries, and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow up. Work week may occasionally exceed 40 hours. Must be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time

How you will contribute as a vital part of our team:
The Laboratory Technician will contribute to a world class laboratory by performing various laboratory duties under the direction of scientific staff which may include:
Performing sample extraction, workup and pipetting.
Adhere to all laboratory safety practices and follow applicable GLP regulations and government guidelines to conduct studies.
Document all work performed following GDP principles.
Communicate clearly with laboratory staff and scientists.
Rely on SOPs and/or methods to perform the functions of the job.
Prepare routine solutions; upkeep with laboratory cleanliness, organize all lab supplies to be easily accessible for all and provide laboratory maintenance.
Maintain and calibrate the laboratory instruments as assigned.
Support laboratory staff as needed.
Position & Schedule
Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5:00PM or 9:00AM - 5:30PM with a 30-minute lunch break.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship; have a BS in Biology preferred or related science field or experience working in a scientific laboratory setting; and an ability to work both independently and within a team. Other items include:
Has knowledge of the use, maintenance, and/or calibration of most GLP equipment.
Knowledge of laboratory operations.
Must be able to work in a flexible environment, perform a variety of tasks and prioritize work.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
Ability to implement scientific procedures and processes involved with residue, environmental fate and metabolism studies.
Exhibit excellent oral and strong written communication skills.
Self-sufficient in planning and executing daily responsibilities and the ability to tend to experimental details and attention to detail.
Good computer skills and being adept with standard software (e.g. Windows, Excel, Word).
Must be able to read, understand, and follow SOPs, policies and regulations, and provide general laboratory support.
Required to frequently stand, walk, and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
