Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for collecting and processing uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and satellite data, ensuring that data meets the specific requirements of researchers working in conservation, natural resource management, and agriculture, while also advancing the integration of cutting-edge data analysis techniques in these fields.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders such as federal agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to co-produce research with practical applications in agriculture, natural resource management, geosystems and geospatial intelligence, and climate adaptation.
• Identify, integrate, and evaluate emerging technologies, such as GeoAI, sensor networks, and cloud-based geospatial data infrastructures, to advance research scalability and impact.
• Perform interdisciplinary research with a focus on machine learning applications in agriculture and/or natural resources.
• Document project results in reports.
• Disseminate research results via conference proceedings, journal manuscripts, and other interactive and engaging media.
• Present project results to peers, program managers, and the public.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field; candidates with a PhD in natural resources, geography, or agricultural fields with demonstrated competency in machine learning and data analysis will also be considered.
• Extensive knowledge in machine learning and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of geospatial analysis and concepts, including but not limited to experience in processing and analyzing geospatial data from satellites, UASs, and remote sensing platforms.
• Some knowledge of agricultural processes, agricultural practices, and/or natural resources
• Demonstrated ability in developing manuscripts and presentations using Microsoft Office (MSWord and PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with high-performance computing environments.
• Ability to accomplish research independently.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with geospatial analysis, integration, and modeling.
• Experience in climate change modeling, environmental systems, or large-scale landscape analysis.
• Extensive knowledge of agricultural processes, agricultural practices, and/or natural resources.
• Demonstrated success in securing funding from federal agencies such as NSF, USDA, or NOAA.

Job Summary
This is an entry-level temporary technical position in marine finfish aquaculture and genetics with a focus on the on-going program on tripletail Lobotes surinamensis. Characteristic duties include preparation and maintenance of recirculating aquaculture systems, collection, preparation, and maintenance of field and laboratory samples and data, and contribution to general laboratory maintenance. The incumbent works within routine husbandry activities associated with aquaculture production from larval to adult stages. Activities in aquaculture facilities include broodstock management, live feeds production, larval and juvenile husbandry, health management, operation of recirculating aquaculture systems, and execution of experimental protocols for the control of captive reproduction and larval culture. Activities in the genetics laboratory include DNA isolation, preparation of genomic libraries for sequencing, implementation of genetic assays and interpretation of results. Work is performed under the supervision of a biologist, scientist or an administrative or technical superior. The position will be located at the Thad Cochran Marine Aquaculture Center in Ocean Springs, MS. The Center is part of the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL), a unit of the University of Southern Mississippi. The Center is located on the Cedar Point campus of GCRL, a 225-acre site devoted primarily to marine aquaculture. The Center currently includes approximately 100,000 square feet of culture space devoted to live feeds, broodstock, hatchery, nursery/growout, laboratory, experimental, and analytical facilities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Conducts molecular genetic analyses, DNA extraction, library preparation while maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the laboratory and production areas

QUALIFICATIONS
· 18 years of age or older
· Enrolled in or recent graduate of a four-year college program in biology, marine biology, or another related field

Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM) has received a transformative gift to establish the Nancy Link Laminitis Research Center. This gift will fund the construction of a new research building and the creation of three new faculty positions, along with new staff and graduate student positions. We seek to assemble an outstanding team of faculty to seize this opportunity and conduct research on laminitis, a painful and crippling disease of horses. The new team will consist of one faculty member at the professor level, one at the associate professor level, and one at the assistant professor level. The new 14,000-square-foot facility will offer both clinical and benchtop research space, as well as the equipment needed for advanced research. Graduate student stipends will be available to each faculty member, and a substantial amount of funding will be available to the team annually for research on the prevention and treatment of laminitis in pleasure or working horses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a twelve-month non- tenure-track appointment in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences (DCBS). Time allocations for this position are 90% research and 10% academic service, teaching, or clinical service, depending upon the individual's interests and expertise. Percentages can be adjusted according to the faculty member's professional interests.
The DCBS is home to 19 faculty, 25 staff and 28 graduate students engaged in research, teaching and service, with most faculty primarily focused on research. Current research strengths within the department include environmental toxicology, represented by the Center for Environmental Health Sciences, aquaculture, infectious diseases, and immunology. In addition to research, faculty in the DCBS are involved in the management and delivery of the first year of the veterinary curriculum, and members of the department play key roles in a program designed to provide veterinary students with a high-quality research experience in the summer. Faculty in the department are also actively involved in providing classes and training activities for graduate students. The three new faculty members for the Nancy Link Laminitis Research Center will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in the DCBS, as well as clinicians in the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine. Equine medicine and equine surgery clinicians in this department provide clinical care to horses with laminitis, and opportunities exist for the new faculty to provide clinical service in the Large Animal Hospital of the Animal Health Center.

Research assistant job in Mississippi
The research program at the White Sand Beef Unit focuses on improving the productivity and sustainability of beef cattle systems. This includes investigating innovative nutritional and management practices that optimize beef cattle production.
The Research Associate position will support research activities at the station and assist with daily farm operations.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem‐solving and communication skills; the ability to work as part of a team, and the ability to manage multiple projects and activities. The successful candidate must be able to work and communicate with multiple constituents including faculty, research associates, students, vendors, contractors, visitors and other MAFES personnel. The successful candidate will function at the professional research level and will be expected to work closely with scientists in study design, layout and execution of various research projects.

Coastal Research and Extension Center serves as Mississippi State University's "southern exposure". South MS Branch Station, White Sands Unit, is the headquarters of our beef cattle program.
Area of Specialization:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with all aspects of beef cattle research at the MSU White Sand Unit. The examples provided are intended to demonstrate the types of duties typically associated with positions in this classification:
1. Assist faculty, staff, and students with research and/or projects.
2. Maintain inventory and records related to research and farm operations.
3. Design, perform, and/or implementation of research projects.
4. Collect, analyze, and interpret data.
5. Prepare reports, graphs, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
6. Operate farm equipment.
7. Maintain and ensure proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
8. Support all aspects of grounds and operations maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: B.S. degree is required in animal science or related field.
Licensures: Valid driver's license. Have or be able to obtain a Category X Pesticide Applicator Certification.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with education and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. degree in animal science or related field is preferred. An emphasis in beef cattle management or appropriate experience is preferred. Demonstration of leadership and supervisory skills is preferred. Experiences in practices such as beef cattle management, beef cattle husbandry.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
1. Interest in pursuing advanced educational degrees closely aligned with the scope of work.
2. Laboratory work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to implement research approaches and develop protocols and methodologies.
2. Capability to design and/or coordinate research projects.
3. Knowledge of field and laboratory techniques for data analysis.
4. Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Outdoor fieldwork.

The position will be housed at the White Sand Beef Unit, but some duties will require working at the South MS Branch Experiment Station in Poplarville and/or the McNeill Branch Experiment Station (both are approximately 10 miles from Poplarville).
The RA may be assigned supervisory responsibilities for the technicians and intermittent workers
