    Associate Dean Research and Clinical Scholarship Associate Dean for Research and Clinical Scholarship College of Nursing Tenured or Tenure-Track, Administrative Appointment Position Summary: The College of Nursing at Texas Woman's University, a Carnegie-designated R2 university, invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Research and Clinical Scholarship. This senior-level faculty leader will drive the strategic vision for research growth and clinical scholarship within the college, advancing a culture of inquiry that supports both traditional research and practice-based contributions. This individual will work closely with faculty, students, community partners, and university leadership to expand the college's research portfolio, promote interdisciplinary and community-engaged research, and enhance scholarship among clinical faculty. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to expand research and clinical scholarship aligned with the college's mission and R2 university priorities. Serve as a member of the College of Nursing's leadership team, advising the Dean on research and scholarship matters; supervise the Research Directors on each campus. Navigate the socio-political environment to meet the health care needs of the people of Texas. Faculty Support & Development Provide mentoring and consultation to both research and clinical faculty on funding, research design, and scholarly dissemination. Foster research and scholarship that addresses regional health needs, including rural health, Latinx and Indigenous populations, mental health, chronic illness, and social determinants of health. Support faculty in identifying funding opportunities and preparing competitive grant proposals. Attend TWU ADR meetings to promote interdisciplinary activities. Infrastructure & Operations Oversee pre- and post-award support, research compliance, and infrastructure development across all three campuses. Coordinate internal funding mechanisms to support pilot projects and clinical innovation. Serve as a liaison between the College of Nursing and other university departments providing scholarship support (e.g., the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Center for Research Design and Analysis, TWU libraries. Institutional Review Board). Clinical Scholarship Promotion Advance the scholarship of teaching, practice, and application, using frameworks such as the Boyer model. Develop initiatives and programming to support clinical faculty in engaging in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, policy analysis, program evaluation and practice-based inquiry. Facilitate partnerships with local, regional, national and international health systems to support scholarly activities within clinical practice settings. Collaboration & Engagement Cultivate interdisciplinary research collaborations across departments and colleges. Strengthen academic-practice partnerships and foster community-engaged research efforts. Represent the college in university-wide research committees and external scholarly organizations. Qualifications: Required: Doctorate in Nursing or a related health or social science discipline. Academic qualifications appropriate for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Familiarity with NIH, HRSA, AHRQ, or foundation funding related to nursing, health equity, and rural or underserved populations. A strong record of externally funded research and scholarly dissemination. Demonstrated experience mentoring faculty and fostering scholarly growth. Evidence of leadership in a higher education or research-intensive healthcare setting. Experience or strong interest in promoting clinical scholarship. Editorial competency. Preferred: Eligible for licensure as RN in Texas is strongly preferred. Experience working in or with minority-serving institutions, particularly Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) or Tribal Colleges. Experience in building or leading research infrastructure and collaborative teams.
