Each experience will provide education and work experience in a different facet of research. Responsibilities Planting Module Interns may learn how to setup and plant various types of research studies at the PFR farm site. This will include organizing seed, planting, cleaning out meter units, and flagging or staking plots as they are planted. Data Collection and Thinning Module Interns will learn how to collect, report, and analyze stand count data, as well as thin plots to desired populations. Stand counts will be taken to compare fungicide treatments/insecticide treatments and many additional agronomic variables. Plot Identification Module Interns will learn how test plots are designed and mapped as well as the proper identification of varieties and technologies by numbering and installing signs and stakes on plots. Production Module Interns will learn various aspects of production agriculture through agronomic support of Beck's Hybrids sales staff in the marketing area. Opportunities will be available to ride along with the PFR Location Lead on customer calls to evaluate product performance. This provides an excellent opportunity to learn how to diagnose agronomic issues and how to evaluate hybrid performance in real world production agriculture. Job Requirements Education and training: Undergraduate course work in agricultural related field. The Opportunity: Postdoctoral Research Associate in Epigenetics The Dunn Lab is seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Associate with expertise or interests in epigenetics to join our team at Purdue University. Candidates will work on several highly interdisciplinary projects focused on understanding the developmental causes and consequences of DNA methylation on risk for depression in adolescence and young adulthood. Projects aim to integrate longitudinal data with insights from genetics, epigenetics, and human development to identify sensitive periods of stress exposure and the protective effects of positive experiences on depressive symptom trajectories. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with extensive epigenetic, genetic, and phenotypic data, applying cutting-edge analytic methods to uncover the biological underpinnings of mental health. You will contribute significantly to the Dunn Lab's research mission, collaborating with an international and multidisciplinary team, all while receiving outstanding team-based mentorship. Responsibilities and Duties: * Develop and implement complex data analysis projects, including epigenome-wide association studies (EWAS) and causal inference methods. * Assist data analyst in performing data acquisition, storage, cleaning, and pre-processing for large-scale, longitudinal studies. * Lead secondary projects applying advanced quantitative statistical analysis to study DNAm signatures, sensitive developmental periods, and subsequent depression risk. * Participate in projects using CRISPR/Cas9 techniques to manipulate DNAm at promising sites. * Lead the write-up of scientific papers to disseminate research findings through high-impact journal publications and conference presentations. * Assist in the mentorship of junior lab members ? Learn transferrable skills to become a successful PI * Act as a subject matter expert for the team in DNAm, biomarkers of mental health risk, and statistical modeling. * Contribute to and drive forward the project's work plan and study goals. Ideal Candidates: The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Epidemiology, Genetics, Genomics, Psychology, or a related field, with a strong publication record, including first-author papers in peer-reviewed journals. They should have interests or expertise in epigenetic mechanisms, especially DNA methylation, and their implications for mental health. The expected candidate has strong experience in ML/AI to facilitate the development of a framework to search for unknown and not yet discovered transitions in such spectra. There is an option to also work on the CMS experiment for a fraction of the time, and/or detector R&D for future colliders. On the CMS side, the Purdue group has extensive involvement in many aspects of CMS, including detector operations, upgrade, software, and physics analysis. The group is deeply involved in detector upgrade projects using a center of excellence for composite manufacturing and simulation for detector support mechanics and cooling, as well as an in-house facility to design, develop and build silicon detectors. At Purdue we also operate a Tier-2 computer center, providing resources for data analysis both locally and as part of the CMS computing Grid. The position offers exciting possibilities in the analysis of the new 13.6 TeV collision data towards quantum tomography of top quarks. The selected candidate will work in this exciting new area of top quark physics, coupled into precision measurements to search for new physics. The successful candidate is expected to take on a leadership role in the physics analysis efforts within the top group. The candidate has ample opportunity to have a substantial involvement in the ongoing R&D efforts related to HL-LHC upgrades, and more importantly, towards future colliders. Cutting-edge machine learning developments for classical and quantum computational platforms are pursued in the group to benefit particle physics and beyond. The Institute for Digital Forestry is a transdisciplinary collaboration of over 30 investigators from the colleges of Agriculture, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Libraries, Polytechnic and Science that integrates expertise in AI/ML, computer applications and modeling, geosciences, satellite and drone sensing platforms, social sciences, education, and forest biology, ecology, health, and management for sustainable and equitable rural and urban forest management. You will examine scenarios applying management practices from individual stands to the regional landscape using FVS, LANDIS, or other models in order to balance among carbon sequestration and other ecological values and services (resilience, diversity, wildlife, etc.). Comparisons will be made relative to a no action reference alternative. The project will require some fieldwork on forested sites in southern Indiana. The postdoc will be hosted by Mike Saunders and Mike Jenkins (Forestry & Natural Resources). Relevant PhD fields are forestry or ecology, with an emphasis on carbon ecology, silviculture, and/or forest modeling. Experience with FVS, LANDIS, and other forest growth and yield programs is desirable. Ability to supervise field technicians and collect field data is required. Required Qualifications We seek highly motivated, well-organized individuals with strong quantitative skills to work on funded disciplinary and interdisciplinary projects and assist development of additional funded programs. Our overall approach is to identify unmet clinical needs, devise innovative solutions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary experts to implement and iteratively refine each strategy, thereby maximizing both scientific impact and translational potential. Responsibilities * Design multifunctional nanoplatforms (organic, inorganic, hybrid) for image-guided (PET/SPECT, CT, MRI, optical, etc.) therapeutic applications (radiotherapy, immunotherapy, phototherapy, etc.). * Investigate mechanisms at the nano-bio interface to better modulate immune responses, the tumor microenvironment, and other biological processes. * Conduct preclinical studies using in vivo disease models (cancer, inflammation, organ injury, etc.) and new alternative methodologies (advanced biological models, etc.) to assess safety and efficacy. * Expand research projects with original ideas and mentor graduate/undergraduate students. * Prepare manuscripts, present findings at conferences, and actively pursue extramural funding. Qualifications * Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline, with a demonstrated track record of research publications. * Familiarity in bio/nanomaterial synthesis, bioimaging, drug delivery, radiochemistry, and/or molecular biology techniques is preferred. * Experience working with radioisotopes and small animal models is desirable. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. About the PI Dr. Jessica Hsu received her Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021 and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2025. She will join the School of Health Sciences at Purdue University as an Assistant Professor in January 2026. She has authored >50 peer-reviewed publications (>2500 citations, h-index: 24) in leading journals including Advanced Functional Materials, Chemistry of Materials, and Nature Reviews Methods Primers.
