S&C is the specialist in highāvoltage switching, protection and control, providing products for the electric power industry since 1911. The Director - Production Operations, Fabrication oversees the fabrication function within the SwitchGear Value Stream. This individual is part of the Switchgear leadership team reporting to the VP - Production Operations Switchgear and will be a key decisionāmaker. They are required to be a strategic thought partner with a handsāon attitude and maintain management operating plans and visual floor management systems. The Director must have experience in change management, solid problemāsolving skills, the ability to give constant attention to detail, a desire for accountability, the ability to coach, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Finally, this individual must have a proven record of team member development to align with our Career Framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop operating plans and budgets to support the strategic vision for fabrication within the Switchgear Value Stream.
Develop efficiency and promote quality management practices and disciplines to support the corporate quality vision.
Promote safety awareness and housekeeping and investigate and report on safety incidents.
Accountable for operational expenses with the expectation of delivering onābudget targets.
Implement process improvements in Assembly, Metal turning, cutting & forming, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Welding, and Powder Paint Finishing that ensure high quality, safe, and efficient production as S&C's Metal Enclosed Gear products continue to grow.
Create and drive a positive work environment, building on the Job Relations best practices deployed throughout the leadership team.
Maintaining a high level of onātime shipments to both internal and external customers.
Empower managers to achieve weekly, monthly, and annual targets in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Cost, and Human Development.
Take ownership of the function's KPI's. Create, maintain, and report out on production status through solid visuals such as KPI boards. Report out to executive leadership on performance and progress towards strategic goals.
Coaching and mentoring direct reports in Problem Solving and other LPS/CI activities.
Responsible for decisions regarding hires, promotions, corrective action and terminations.
Serve as a change agent by influencing, communicating and institutionalizing a culture of simplification, standard work, process improvement, and lean principles.

Reporting to the Manager-Global Sourcing for services and indirect materials (e.g. IT, Capitals, MRO (maintenance, repair and operations), this role will be responsible for assisting in various sourcing projects, coordinating the creation of sourcing processes, data analysis for spend categories, and liaising with cross-functional departments to ensure cost reduction targets and supplier performance goals are met.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support Sourcing Managers in various sourcing projects, including administrative tasks.
Identify new suppliers as needed for indirect materials/services.
Support the RFP, RFQ, RFI, and negotiation processes.
Act as liaison with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure sourcing project completion.
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a degree program and in good standing at an accredited college or university
Candidate should pursue Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, and Industrial Engineering programs.
General understanding of sourcing, category knowledge & supplier management experience.
Skills:
Organized and has skills to multi-task several projects with several team members and manage deadlines.
Self-starter, high initiative, persistent and curious.
Possesses strong initiative to understand a problem and work independently to solve it.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and strong with Excel.
Previous work experience in a supply chain or operations environment preferred.

The Staff Generators Engineer is responsible for leading medium and large-scale projects to improve the lab's capabilities related to testing of switchgear products and to maintain the lab's facilities and process. This role involves designing, simulating and troubleshooting the lab's equipment and processes, focusing on the lab's high-power generators and controls. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing test equipment, test methods, analyzing test data and providing insights to support product development and quality improvement efforts. The Staff Generators Engineer is expected to coach other team members to ensure their development and skills retention in the lab. The Staff Generators Engineer will report to Senior Manager-NJC Laboratories.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform technical inspections on, create plans for and lead preventative maintenance of, and assess the performance of electric generators and their drive system.
* Develop preventative maintenance strategies, assessment strategies and implement those strategies for generator stators, rotors, electric windings, insulation, controls and instrumentation.
* Lead efforts to troubleshoot issues and apply standard engineering methods and techniques to solve the issues related to generator stators, rotors, electrical windings, insulation, controls and instrumentation. Collaborate with other teams and industry experts to develop solutions and improvements.
