The Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR), an organization within the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, is responsible for the design, monitoring and statistical analysis of clinical trials and observational studies for several major national and international NIH-funded clinical research networks. CBAR employs over 100 statisticians and epidemiologists including Harvard faculty, research scientists, and staff. Investigators within CBAR have provided statistical leadership and support for clinical research networks for more than 30 years. Currently this includes infectious disease networks such as: the Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Groups (ACTG), the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Group (IMPAACT), and the Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study (PHACS). Results from studies have helped to establish the paradigm for the treatment and prevention of HIV and other infectious diseases, and contributed to international treatment and prevention guidelines.

What are we looking for?
DRT is looking for you, our next SAS Developer to work directly with public health GIS analysts, coordinators, epidemiologists, and other technologists to design, develop, deploy, and maintain IT solutions using SAS. You will get to support new and existing SAS reports and data interfaces. Following an Agile DevOps methodology, you will also build and test systems on our exciting program that provides GIS solutions to address diverse, complex, and emerging problems within the public health domains of environmental health, infectious disease, chronic disease, and emergency preparedness/response. Our support includes the design, development, and enhancements of internal and external applications, websites, and database solutions with geospatial components. Our team develops innovative data capture and analysis techniques in the field to enhance emergency response efforts all around the world.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:
- Design, configure, customize, and deploy new features into existing solutions; build features from customer requirements, manage data flows, and perform\ routine maintenance, enhancements, and bug fixes
- Develop and manage a schedule to meet deliverables and establish estimated completion dates
- Follow the government’s software development lifecycle framework and provides agreed upon project documentation
- Support requirements elicitation and provide feedback to optimize requirements to align to development best practices; work with business owners and analysts to define workflows and develop user stories
- Complete tasks on time with minimal supervision but support collaboration across teams
- Administer all aspects of SAS solutions including performance and scheduling
- Provide performance monitoring and tuning, service configuration, security, and licensing when needed
- Provide user management support

To be successful in this role you need the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field with at least seven years’ experience in IT development roles. 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust with the US federal government
- Three or more years of experience using SAS
- Knowledge of SAS best practices and performance tuning
- Strong SQL experience
- Experience in platform architecture, solution design, planning, developing, deployment, and security
- Experience in Section 508 compliant application development
- Excellent data management skills

The Retail Services area is seeking a SAS developer with demonstrated experience in managing data processes for Global Compliance initiatives. The primary responsibilities of this position include SAS coding on Unix/Grid, testing, debugging, and creating SAS datasets for internal team to use. He or she will also involve in business driven data content validation against application or dataset in Unix environment, and summarize data to create reports. Working knowledge of SAS on Unix/Grid is a must. The ideal candidate will be comfortable delivering results quickly in a fast-paced environment while working on multiple deliverables.
Qualification and skills
•7 years of advanced SAS experience (macros, data management, data profiling and reporting)
•Unix scripting experience (scripts, vi etc.)
•SQL and database experience
•Experience working with large volumes of data in the financial services industry
•Experience with credit card industry is a plus; experience with Anti-money Laundry or Know Your Customer initiate is a plus
•ETL experience is a plus
•Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills; ability to independently track down answers and research data issues across multiple system touch point
