Grinder (Entry Level) Shift: Nights - 10pm - 10am Location: Walton Hills Rate: $16-18 per hour depending on experience (+ .75 shift diff for 3rd) + bonus every 6 months Responsibilities include but not limited to: Separate/sort plastic sheets Box, label and weigh inventory Follow grinding schedule Load material into grinder and grind into pellet form to be used for reprocessing into sheet form Tear down/break down/clean grinding machine Stage material for upcoming jobs Previous extrusion experience and knowledge of plastic sheet extrusion process a plus. Summary : Responsible for final finishes running machine. This involves tasks related to set-up, machine operation, and disposing of chips as required. Job Functions and Functional Job Task Elements Task 1: Operate Machine Receive metal rolls from machine area-a jib crane can be used to lift heavier items. Check prints for specific job. Parts placed and measurements taken and tool marked prior to running job. Need a forward reach of 32”. Gripping of parts and tools. May need to utilize drivers to operate the machine-can weigh up to 90#. Change out bearings as needed. Must monitor machine operation carefully due to close tolerance of machine operation-final finishes on neck and barrel. Trunk flexion and twisting. May utilize stool for sitting if needed to observe and monitor machine while running. Walk back and forth to monitor machine. Visual inspection of part. Task 2: Maintain Machine and Surrounding Area The chips on this machine need be shoveled into pit. Oil/water mix with -soda ash. Check machine for maintenance: check fluids, etc. Complete time sheet per job: materials and time noted. We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical operations and be proficient in various manufacturing processes. This role involves working with precision tools and machinery to ensure high-quality production standards are met. The Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the overall production workflow. Requirements Responsibilities Main duties of the Grinder Technician and WTR position include o Wear all appropriate PPE for position including ear plugs, safety glass, cut resistant gloves etc. o Following appropriate LOTO once trained. Grinders have to be locked out when work is being done on them. o Operate a forklift in a safe manner and adhere to all forklift policies and procedures. o The ability to do full blade changes in a timely manner once fully trained. o Use hand tools to accomplish the job. (Impact gun, torque wrench) o Communicate issues to the team leader or maintenance team should you find an issue. o Work in tight spaces when needed. o Ability to accurately take inventory count of blades on hand as well as grinder screens. o Some lifting is required. o Ability to work 12-hour shift and overtime when necessary. o Ability to troubleshoot issues with grinder once trained and to be able to pass along to team leader or maintenance team. o Able to follow and understand work instructions for completing grinder blade change. o Work in and around chemicals in WTR. Appropriate PPE is required when doing so. o Exposure to some corrosive and hazardous chemicals in WTR. o Take hourly PH and WTR system readings and log them on paperwork. o Troubleshoot WTR system and accurately communicate issues to team leader or maintenance personnel when needed. o Ability to work on chemical pumps and system when required.
