Essential1. Provides safe and efficient transportation of students.
Functions:·Complies with all Ohio Administrative Code pupil transportation operation and safety rules.
* Performs pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections. Checks safety equipment/first aid supplies. Reports equipment
concerns/malfunctions in writing immediately.
* Assumes responsibility for the interior/exterior cleanliness of the vehicle.
* Complies with current safety standards to clean up blood, body fluids/tissue, chemical spills, hazardous materials, mold,
etc. Promptly reports work-related injuries to a supervisor.
* Fuels the vehicle. Monitors fluid levels (e.g., oil, windshield washer, brake, transmission, etc.). Documents fuel
consumption and mileage.
* Practices defensive driving. Complies with motor vehicle laws (e.g., speed limits, complete stops, etc.). Reports traffic
citations, accidents, or property damage that occurs on or off the job.
* Attempts to identify and report vehicles that fail to comply with traffic regulations (e.g., failure to stop for flashing bus lights,
passing in prohibited zones, etc.).
* Uses proper protocol when operating communication equipment.
* Picks up/unloads students at assigned stops. Keeps route sheets up-to-date.
* Provides dependable service. Maintains established routes/time schedules. Suggests route modifications that improve
efficiency. Transports only authorized passengers. Reports road hazards or other problems that may interfere with pupil
transportation services.
* Communicates bus rules to students (i.e., expectations/consequences). Assumes full responsibility for controlling student
conduct on the bus. Keeps supervisors informed about behavior problems.
* Provides assistance as needed when aware of passengers with medical/health considerations.
* Follows district field trip procedures. Remains available to staff/students during trips as instructed.
* Participates in the district's bus safety program as directed.
* Conducts emergency evacuation drills that comply with current state standards.
* Puts misplaced items in the lost and found storage area.
* Protects district property. Secures equipment/storage areas as directed.
NOTE: On vehicles with a wheelchair lift - the driver and aide work as a team. Before the bus starts; seat belts, wheelchairs and other assistance/mobility equipment must be secured.

Replies within 24 hours The primary function of the Bus Operator is to transport riders and operate and manage the occupants of 42 and 54 passenger yellow school buses for regular morning daily routes safely and professionally. Be in possession of a valid Ohio driver's license with a school bus endorsement and currently certified to operate a yellow school bus in the State of Ohio.
Carry out the required daily pre-service bus inspection and turn in documentation of the results
Pass the mandated yearly physical

This person will work a minimum 6 hours per day and will be paid as per salary schedule. Persons applying for this position must have a CDL Class B License with School Bus endorsement along with a high school diploma or GED.
If you do not have a CDL Class B License with School Bus endorsement, we offer free training with a certified on board instructor. Training will provide the skills to obtain Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement. The instructor will work around the trainee's schedule to accommodate training, including nights and weekends. The trainee will initially pay for the temporary permit, CDL testing, and CDL license. The initial cost is approximately $125.00. Upon successful completion of testing and is officially hired, those costs are reimbursed to the trainee. The only non-reimbursed cost to the trainee is the cost of the fingerprinting. The trainee has the potential to work as a substitute bus aide while being trained.

Cleans the inside of the bus daily and outside of bus when needed.
Reports all accidents to the appropriate law enforcement agency and the Transportation Supervisor of the school system.
Keeps fuel in the bus and sees that the oil and water are checked regularly.
Attends safety meetings as directed.
Administers necessary first aid in case of accident.
Does evacuation and safety drills on their bus routes.
Performs such other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor/designee.

Be available by phone
Communicate effectively and respectfully with riders, co workers, supervisors and parents
Design, follow, and carry out daily route sheets in a safe and timely manner (as needed)
Identify and communicate major and minor mechanical issues in a timely manner that can affect the safe transport of riders
Fulfill the four-hour inservice requirements and attend other inservice opportunities as assigned
Demonstrate good attendance, professional conduct,and appearance and work

POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Transportation Associate, you'll play a crucial role in managing transportation operations, driving community vehicles, and assisting residents with appointments and errands. This is a great opportunity for individuals who have a passion for service, safety, and logistics, and who are committed to helping residents maintain their independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive community vehicles by safely transporting residents, staff, and running errands while adhering to all regulations and safety standards.
* Maintain vehicles by following scheduled maintenance calendars and Trilogy's policies to keep them in excellent working condition.
* Track and report by maintaining accurate mileage logs and immediately reporting any incidents, accidents, or malfunctions to your supervisor.
* Coordinate schedules by working closely with your supervisor to manage transportation schedules and ensure residents' appointments and transportation needs are met.
* Assist residents with appointments by accompanying them to doctor visits and staying with them until they return to the campus, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED/HSE preferred
* 0-1 Years of relevant experience preferred
* Valid and unencumbered driver's license required - ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record Search.
* Must possess and maintain the appropriate certifications required for transporting residents safely in compliance with state regulations
* Minimum age requirement of 25 due to insurance purposes.
