As a First Student Part Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students' day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home.

Your day will include:
A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between
A guaranteed shift of (4) hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want to

MCI Coach Drivers must meet the following requirements:
Five years driving experience with two years interstate driving experience.
Class B Type 1 CDL
Current medical card
Current first aid card
Current School Bus Driver Certificate
Basic mechanical knowledge including diesel fuel systems, electrical systems, air brake systems. DOT air brake certified. Must also be able to diagnose and make minor repairs including adjustment of air brakes.
Competent in driving in large metropolitan areas and able to handle intense traffic situations.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities, to ensure the safe transportation of students, staff, and others to and from school, residential neighborhoods, and field trips.
Essential Functions:
Safely drives a school bus on days when school is in session over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, loading and unloading students at designated locations.
Transports students, teachers and others on school field or activity trips.

Maintains order and discipline in an effective and courteous manner among students being transported in accordance with district policies and procedures; reports any incidents involving student discipline.
Observes and tracks route timing, such as total time en-route, time between stops, loading and unloading times or any other requested information for the purpose of establishing route efficiency, as requested.
Maintains and submits records and reports as required.
Follows procedures to ensure that no child is left alone on bus without adult supervision at any time, and that all children have departed bus at the end of all bus routes (morning, evening and during field trips or other special trips).
Inventories bus emergency and first aid supplies and equipment; reports needs to the Director.
Prepares aides and children for bus drills and ensures bus evacuation drills are held as required.
In case of accidents/emergencies, evacuates children according to written and practiced procedures, ensures that medical emergency procedures are followed; completes a written report as required.
Attends and participates in trainings, and other continuing education, career and professional development opportunities.

The Laurel School District is seeking substitute Bus Drivers for daily a.m. and/or p.m. routes. Regular bus routes run approximately 4 hours per day (2 hours AM and 2 hours PM). Bus Driver Substitute pay is $15.91/hr. Extra-curricular driving opportunities are also available.
Applicants must be 21 years old, have a valid driver's license, have a minimum of 5 years experience as a licensed driver, and hold, or be eligible to obtain, a CDL, with Air Brakes, Passenger Endorsement and School Bus Endorsement. Must pass a DOT Drug test.
The District will assist successful applicants in obtaining their Commercial Driver's License, with air brake clearance, if they do not already have one. The District will pay for the required 10 hours of training, the DOT physical and First Aid & CPR class for all successful applicants. Responsibilities Include:
Transport employees safely to/from lodges, employee housing, Big Sky, and Belgrade, all of which are within the normal commuting distance of the Yellowstone Club
Transportation Drivers operate light and heavy passenger vans and buses for transport
Drive and operate gasoline or diesel-powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport employees between Yellowstone Club, Big Sky Town Center, Belgrade, and off-site housing locations
Safely transport all passengers
Comply with Club traffic, public traffic, and highway safety rules and regulations in operating vehicles
Follow written and verbal geographical directions
Keep vehicle interiors/exteriors clean for passengers
Prepare and submit reports that include number of passenger trips, ridership, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption
Work closely with Fleet Mechanics to keep vehicles running or repairs completed in a timely manner
Check condition of the vehicle tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure everything is in working order
Position Requirements:
GED or equivalent; must be 20 years of age or older
Minimum of 3 to 6 months experience in transportation driving in a luxury club or private resort setting
Proficient in proper and safe driving of vehicles
Must carry current and valid U.S. or International Driver License
Driving record that meets Yellowstone Club insurance requirements
Able to operate gasoline and diesel-powered multi-passenger vehicles
Able to sit for extended periods of time and use vision, hearing, and hands/arms to drive multi-passenger vehicles
Occasionally required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; successful completion of snow driving training provided by Yellowstone Club.
Must pass pre-employment background check, paid for by the employer, which is carried out equally among U.S. workers and H-2B workers
