Job Description City of Pekin School Bus Department is seeking applicants for part-time school bus drivers during the school year. The position is active during the school year while school is in session. Position is a split shift, with 3 hour guaranteed minimum per day. Safely drive/operate a 12-52 vans/passenger buses on campus and to locations off-campus and or out of town trips on a regular schedule or as assigned. This is a 9-month position.Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform daily inspections as required. * Fill gas, diesel, oil and charge when needed. * Promptly report maintenance issues. * Assist passengers with physical deficits on and off of vehicle, ensuring safe transportation. * Keep record of passenger numbers and/or log-book as required. * Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor and or designated dispatcher. * Complete all pre and post-trip inspections. * Enforce federal, state and University guidelines for bus riders. * Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.): * High School Diploma or equivalent * Two (2) years of experience in driving a bus is required. * Clean Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger and air brake endorsements is required. * Previous or current public transportation or experience with large passenger vehicles is preferred. * Must be able to work various shift, including weekends and out of town travel.
