Description and Responsibilities The Childcare Worker creates and maintains a safe and stimulating environment for children (ages 1-5), while providing care and activities for children's learning programs in a structured setting and to assist with program planning and coordination. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Planning and carrying out recreational activities for all ages of children, including family groups. Inviting mothers to participate, as appropriate. Help develop a non-punitive atmosphere in the Children's Program by assisting mothers and children in learning means of non-violent conflict resolution. Implement individual plans for children, as appropriate. Maintain appropriate records and progress notes on children. Assist mothers in developing parenting skills. Advocate for children and provide them with emotional support. Assist in other children's program's as necessary. Maintain the orderliness of the classroom and related areas. What You'll Do: Perform precision wood planing and milling to meet custom project specifications. Operate woodworking equipment and tools safely and effectively. Inspect and measure materials to ensure quality and accuracy. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines. Handle and move materials, occasionally lifting up to 100 lbs. Requirements What You Bring: Previous experience in woodworking, millwork, or a custom woodshop environment preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to safely operate woodworking machinery. Reliable, team-oriented, and proactive mindset. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to follow technical instructions. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Key Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment for tasks such as loading, unloading, and transporting materials. Checks, verifies and documents the proper and safe operation of plant machinery and systems, and report problems to appropriate supervisors on a timely basis (e.g. daily and weekly). Checks and makes necessary adjustments to appropriate equipment (e.g. temperatures, pressure, water and oil levels, motor belts, chains, tank levels, leaks of any kind, equipment rotation, sump levels, etc.) Keep the work area clean and organized, removing debris and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Maintains material handling systems including the transporting and stocking ash bunkers. Will assist in sampling incoming material for yield percentages, documentation of loads, reporting yield findings to the QA/QC superintendent. Performs general housekeeping duties in preparation for other shifts. Take immediate action on any safety hazards and report them directly to the appropriate supervisors on a timely basis. What does it take to work for Groome Industrial Service Group? High school diploma or equivalent; certification in forklift operation preferred. Previous experience operating forklifts or similar equipment. Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in equipment operation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment in various conditions, including high-noise environments. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in various outdoor conditions. Capacity to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
