Speaking of culture, be sure to check out the CREED section of our careers page: ********************************************* Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Washer Operator #1: Fill the washer with water if needed Turn the washer pumps, conveyor and heat on Removes pans from the exit end of the washer and loads them onto oven carts in a timely manner Inspect pans as they are loaded onto the oven carts to ensure they are clean Sets any pans that are not clean to the side to be re-processed Stops the washer conveyor and turns oven carts around when one side of the cart is full Places new oven carts into position Removes any excess water from the floor after each washing cycle Informs the Plant Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Man of any problems found with the cleanliness of the pans Performs daily and weekly housekeeping duties Reports any mechanical problems to the Plant Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Man immediately Reports any unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Man immediately Performs other job duties at such times as when there is no pans to load into the washer or as the Plant Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Man deem necessary. Washer Operator #2: Fill the washer with water if needed Turn the washer pumps, conveyor and heat on Loads pans from baskets into entrance end of the washer in a timely manner Inspect pans as they are loaded into the washer to ensure they are clean Perform minor wiping of the pans if necessary Returns empty baskets to designated area with the help of another employee Informs the Plant Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Man of any problems found with the cleanliness of the pans Performs daily and weekly housekeeping duties Reports any mechanical problems to the Plant Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Man immediately Reports any unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Man immediately Performs other job duties at such times as when there are no pans to load into the washer or as the Plant Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Man deem necessary. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, company handbook, and procedure manuals Ability to regularly stand, walk up and down steps, bending and twisting at the waist, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feels objects, bending at the elbow, reach overhead, lifting from the floor, turning of the head, looking up and down, pushing and pulling Must be able to lift and /or move more than 75 pounds The training requirements for this job includes: Emergency Procedures, Emergency Response, Eye Protection, Fire Safety, Hazard Communication, Lockout Tagout Program, Slips, Trips and Falls, Hearing Conservation This job may require the use of safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, plant approved gloves, and safety shoes, Long Pants, Short or Long Sleeves. No tank tops or sleeveless shirts. At no time shall any person extend any part of their body into the washer unless the washer has been properly locked out and tagged out. Essential Functions * Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; * Inspects the existing sewer system for Inflow & Infiltration (I & I), blockages, and odors; * Read and interpret blueprints, standard drawings and equipment manuals; * Repairs manholes and perform routine maintenance on wet wells, force mains and gravity lines; * Assist in the maintenance of the grounds throughout the Sewer District including but not limited to Regional plants, package plants, Lift Stations, and Sewer Easements; * Assists with treatment plant and pump station tank cleaning; * Assists with manhole inspection program; * Operate collection system equipment; e.g. Vac Truck, Jet truck, Sewer Camera systems, Air release valves, and in-line valves, etc.; * Must follow safety practices as required by the County; e.g. Arc flash safety, chemicals and associated SDS's, Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, CPR and first aid, gas monitoring equipment, safe climbing practices, forklift operation, crane operations, etc; * Responds timely to declared county emergencies and other emergency situations that may require the use of equipment to protect the public health; * Maintains readiness and have the ability to properly use portable generators, portable pumps, and all other emergency response equipment; * Operates, calibrates, and maintains chemical feed systems for odor control throughout the sewer district; * Assists with composite sampling at site locations of industrial/commercial accounts; Regularly cleans the field sampling equipment, maintains, and orders replacement parts, as needed; * Clears blocked sewer lines; * Assists with mainline point repairs; * Implements Work Zone safety plans including but not limited to road closures, lane restrictions and right of way work; * General knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and other asset management software; * Attends various training sessions, video conferences, and workshops. * Performs typing, word processing, and related computer operations; * Works overtime and outside of typical work schedule/business hours as required; and * Other duties as assigned.
