Performs work in several trades including general construction, maintenance, or repairs in a manner consistent with accepted practices, under the direction of the Facilities Director. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and requires minimal supervision. The tasks below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Regular, dependable and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job. High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in one or more of the skilled trades, (e.g. plumbing, pipe laying, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, masonry, air conditioning, painting, etc.).
Valid Florida Class E Driver's License (Must maintain for the duration of employment).
Work is primarily completed during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm); however, schedule flexibility is required to effectively perform the requirements of the position. May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
In the event of an emergency, natural or manmade disaster the employee will be expected to work.

While all operations are ongoing, laborers will have the capabilities to learn other positions such as dredge operator or equipment operator to improve their skills which will lead to promotions in positions.
* Once dredging operations are complete, the laborers will assist in cleaning all equipment, disassembling all equipment, loading all equipment, and doing final clean ups to restore the customer site.
Requirements:
* Must have some experience and/or a background in working outside in an upland or marine construction style environment. (Mining, dredging, drilling, earthworks/excavation, land clearing, offshore, under or above ground utility, heavy civil, etc.).
* Must be able to work in extreme heat, extreme cold, and on the water. Job sites range from very remote to industrial plant environments.
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
* Must be authorized to work in the US.
* Valid driver's license is preferred.

Job Duties:
* Provide jobsite coordination.
* Provide clear and concise communication with Dispatchers, Train Crews, other Railroad Personnel, and/or Contractor personnel.
* Provide clear, concise, and thorough job briefings with all personnel on each job site.
* Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
* Identify rule violations and resolve in accordance with Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
* Enforce Contractor training requirements.
* Submit daily field reports detailing Contractor and/or Railroad activities.
* Provide On-Track Safety in accordance with 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOT Rail Divisions, Railroad Suppliers, Railroad Contractors, and/or Railroad Consultants.
