Performs work in several trades including general construction, maintenance, or repairs in a manner consistent with accepted practices, under the direction of the Facilities Director. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and requires minimal supervision. The tasks below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary. While all operations are ongoing, laborers will have the capabilities to learn other positions such as dredge operator or equipment operator to improve their skills which will lead to promotions in positions. * Once dredging operations are complete, the laborers will assist in cleaning all equipment, disassembling all equipment, loading all equipment, and doing final clean ups to restore the customer site. Requirements: * Must have some experience and/or a background in working outside in an upland or marine construction style environment. (Mining, dredging, drilling, earthworks/excavation, land clearing, offshore, under or above ground utility, heavy civil, etc.). * Must be able to work in extreme heat, extreme cold, and on the water.
