This Operations Batcher II position is responsible for the proper weighing and mixing of pesticide and fertilizer ingredients according to analysis, the addition of metered active ingredients, the premixing of liquid active ingredients, the coordinated distribution to the proper lines and systems, and the completion of all batching and production records, as well as, a throughout understanding of all products used.
Key Responsibilities
* Efficiently perform the daily functional activities of the batching operation according to the procedures established to meet production schedules by coordinating with the bagging, bulk loading, and plant operations
* Develop and maintain knowledge of active ingredients including cost, composition and quality.
* Develop and maintain a cost savings regarding products used in batching process.
* Maintain high standards of quality and quantity control on all batched products to ensure that the proper amounts and types of ingredients are mixed correctly
* Correctly mix, blend and inert ingredients into the scale hopper using batcher equipment controls according to the desired analysis
* Accurately complete and submit the daily paperwork required for batching and production
* Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of the batching operation area and systems

**JOB SUMMARY:**
The finishing operator is responsible for the machine setup, adjustments, make-readies, assist with maintenance, troubleshooting quality issues, and operation of their assigned folding gluing machine. While operating the machine, they are responsible for safely and efficiently manufacturing high quality folding cartons at or above target run speeds while minimizing waste and downtime. The machine operator is the leader of the crew and oversees the activities of the feeder packers working on that machine. The operator must obtain and review the job ticket for items, quantities, caliper of the paperboard, and any special instruction that is informational for running the order to specification. The case specification must also be reviewed to make sure that the instructions are clear and concise prior to running the order. The operator is responsible for ensuring all make-readies are put on as quickly as possible. The operator inspects the product quality including folded score caliper, proper gluing and stacking, carton and score alignment, and case fit, and ensures that the machine is in good running condition. The operator ensures that the Leary glue and mix detection system is constantly functioning correctly. The operator is also responsible for shutting down the machine if it is to be left unattended. This position reports to the Finishing Lead, Shift Supervisor and Finishing Manager.
