Fire Protection Specialists are the people who work on implementing systems for the protection of the people, buildings, wildlife, and environment from the effects of fire. A fire protection specialist inspects buildings, homes, and other places to assess the different fire hazards and how to prevent them. To be a fire protection specialist, many start by working or volunteering as a firefighter; some study fire science, fire safety, or any related programs. Adequate knowledge about fire safety, fire regulation, fire hazards are just some of the skills you must have to become a Fire Protection Specialist.

Firefighters/paramedics handle emergency triage, ensure patient stability, and acute medical assessment. These professionals provide emergency medical care to infant, child, and adult trauma and medical patients based on assessment findings. They manage paramedic/EMT continuing education programs. They are trained in HAZMAT response and do exercises on a monthly basis. It is their responsibility to coordinate blood-borne infection and CPR yearly skills training and re-certification for county volunteers and employees.

A Fire Chief's responsibility is to maintain the fire station's efficient response, the working order of all equipment, and all staff's readiness. They meet with the fire board to discuss the safety directives for the community. The Fire Chief's responsibility to the community is to ensure the area, provide a speedy response during emergencies, and offer the community the security they need against devastating fires. It is also required for them to have constant communication with the community and inform them of all policies relating to fire prevention.

Firefighters are responsible for controlling, putting out fires, and responding to emergencies involving life, property, and the environment. They operate firetrucks and other emergency vehicles, along with track down and save victims in burning buildings or other emergency situations. Also, they tend to the sick or injured individuals and produce written reports on emergency incidents. Additionally, they distinguish fires using water hoses and pumps as well as fire extinguishers, scrub and maintain equipment, and execute drills and physical fitness training.
