The Boeing Company is currently seeking a SoftwareEngineeringManager, Shared Services to support our Precision Engagement Systems team in Saint Charles, Missouri. The Boeing St. Charles campus is approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown St. Louis.
This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) SoftwareEngineering organization. The Shared Services Manager for softwareengineering will lead cross-functional software support teams that enable mission-critical software delivery. This role will manage the Software Configuration & Release, Agile, DevSecOps, and Internal Tools teams that support Precision Engagement Systems programs. Develop and execute integrated service plans, policies, standards, and procedures that align with Precision Engagement Systems program objectives and broader BDS priorities.
Define and maintain roadmaps for shared services, including prioritization, capacity planning, SLAs, and measurable outcomes tailored to mission needs.
Partner with program leadership, system architects, product owners, cyber/security, test & verification, and suppliers to ensure services meet operational, safety, and security requirements.
Drive adoption and continuous improvement of softwareengineering processes, automation, release orchestration, security scanning, environment provisioning, and test automation across product lines.
Establish and report on metrics and KPIs to track service reliability and effectiveness (e.g., deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR, customer satisfaction); use data to inform decisions and continuous improvements.
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches for shared services to ensure alignment with engineering best practices, regulatory/compliance standards, and mission assurance requirements.
Recruit, develop, mentor and motivate technical leads and engineers; foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning focused on mission outcomes.
Manage supplier and vendor relationships as applicable; provide technical oversight, ensure contractual performance, and integrate supplier capabilities into service delivery.
Identify opportunities to reduce program risk, optimize cost, and increase delivery velocity through platform investments, automation, and process refinement.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
5+ years of experience in leading or managing a softwareengineering organization and software activities
3+ years of experience as the technical leader or manager of a software development or product deployment team
In-depth knowledge of the entire software development life cycle process including software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile software development methodologies
Experience with flight software or simulation programs and/or user interface
Familiarity with DevOps practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment, configuration management, security analysis and cloud computing
