The Role:
As an experienced SoftwareEngineer on the CLX IRMA team, you will help design and build Clear Street's core platform for managing institutional client data and relationships. IRMA is the Institutional Relationship Management Application, Clear Street's golden data store for client entities, accounts, relationships, and organizational structures across all business lines.
You'll be responsible for developing scalable services that capture, validate, and distribute client-related data and structures, ensuring downstream systems like trading, clearing, settlement, and compliance have accurate, timely information. The Team
The IRMA team builds and maintains the backbone of Clear Street's client static data ecosystem. The Base Salary Range is $170,000 - $220,000. These ranges are representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $190,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
10+ years of proven hands-on experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong portfolio of impactful projects.
Strong system design and architecture skills.
Expertise in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Proficiency in Node.js and Java Spring Boot, with experience in PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
Understanding of AWS cloud services and experience with cloud deployments.
Familiarity with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
Strong testing skills and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with financial applications, trading systems, or market data platforms.
Familiarity with caching strategies, messaging queues, and search technologies like OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
This role is expected to work a hybrid schedule out of our NYC office.

THE WORK

The Finance Primitives (FP) team is the engineering backbone of Ripple's financial operations. We are responsible for building the reusable, atomic financial infrastructure-such as the Canonical Ledger, Wallets, Bank/Crypto Connectivity, and Transaction services-that power all of Ripple's products (Payments, Stablecoin, Custody, etc.). We address fragmentation by turning duplicated efforts into leverage, enabling the entire company to build faster and maintain less.
We are seeking a high-potential SoftwareEngineer Intern to join our team to contribute directly to our high priority initiatives to scale product impact by directly improving operational efficiency. Unlike a designated intern project, you will be embedded as a full member of the team, solving real-time challenges that impact the operational stability and financial accuracy of the entire business.
This is a high-stakes, high-learning opportunity where you will gain end-to-end experience:
Backend and Systems Engineering: Writing production-grade code for high-reliability systems, focusing on operational automation, data integrity, and API development.
Full Development Lifecycle: Working on features from design and architecture review through implementation, testing, and deployment (CI/CD).
Operational Excellence: Contributing to the maintenance and evolution of our core systems that manage fiat connectivity and asset movements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work on P0 projects alongside senior engineers, addressing the most critical needs in banking abstraction, ledger reconciliation, or unified connectivity.
Gain familiarity with the core mechanics of payment processing, financial event logging, and multi-asset management in a real-time environment.
Improve engineering and operational efficiency by applying automation to manual Finance Operations workflows.
Contribute to the strategic goal of establishing Ripple's Canonical Financial Record.
Receive mentorship while working with multiple components of the FP platform (backend, some frontend exposure, CI/CD).
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Currently enrolled in Undergraduate, or Graduate degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.or related field
Available to work for 12 weeks during Summer 2026, beginning in May or June.
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship
Proven understanding of core data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
Familiarity with at least one of the following backend languages: Java, Go, or Python
Prior experience (academic projects or previous internships) in building scalable backend services.
A strong interest in FinTech, distributed systems, and solving complex, high-reliability problems.
