Solar energy specialist job description

Loureiro Engineering Associates has an immediate need for a Energy Specialist to expand our energy auditing and energy conservation measure implementation service. You will work on a number of diverse projects and will be able to see how the Company's core values- integrity, client satisfaction, quality, work environment, safety and health, and sustainability are instilled in every project and in every employee.
Responsibilities:

* Perform energy audits at industrial manufacturing facilities;
* Installing and removing data loggers;
* Utilizing snapshot energy collection equipment;
* Downloading and manipulating energy data;
* Implementation of the Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program, including client outreach and training,
* Identifying and quantifying energy uses within a site and their energy reduction opportunities;
* Calculate energy savings for energy conservation projects, and return on investment calculations for energy conservation measures;
* Performing data analysis using logger software as well as Excel applications;
* Writing detailed reports on energy reduction opportunities;
* Collaborate with other focus areas within Facility Engineering Division including Water/Wastewater, and mechanical, electrical, and Plumbing (MEP).

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or a technical field with 2-5 years' experience working with energy use systems and energy reduction;
* Energy Certifications from the Association of Energy Engineers, Building Performance Institute, or similar; Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) certification is preferred
* Previous experience performing energy work in an industrial and manufacturing setting is preferred
* Greenhouse Gas reporting experience, lean manufacturing experience, and complex project management are a plus.

The Solar Energy Conversion Group within the Chemical Sciences and Engineering division is seeking applicants for post-doctoral associate positions in the areas of: synthesis of molecular catalysts and metal clusters, molecular surface immobilization strategies, electro- and photochemical analysis of molecular complexes and thin films, analysis of catalytic mechanisms, and X-ray scattering and spectroscopy characterization methods of molecular assemblies and thin films.
This work will support fundamental research programs aimed at:

1) Understanding the light-absorption and catalytic activity of newly discovered few-atom inorganic cluster complexes using experimental and theoretical methods.

2) The mechanisms and activity of molecular complexes for electrocatalytic water remediation approaches. Characterization of light- and redox-driven reaction pathways and structural dynamics in these new molecular materials will be accomplished by steady-state and time-resolved optical absorbance spectroscopy, electrochemical methods, and X-ray scattering and spectroscopy analyses at the Advanced Photon Source.

**Position Requirements**

+ Considerable knowledge of and experimental expertise in multistep, air-sensitive organic/inorganic syntheses, purification techniques, and standard characterization methods.

+ Demonstrated experience in synthesis and characterization of transition-metal coordination compounds, new ligand structures, and/or inorganic clusters by scientific publications in relevant journals is desired

+ Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Good skill in data processing, evaluation, and interpretation. Working in an interdisciplinary research team setting

+ Some knowledge of and experimental expertise in one or more of the following techniques is a plus: absorbance and fluorescence spectroscopy, electrochemistry, transient optical spectroscopy, X-ray scattering, X-ray absorption spectroscopy

+ This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in inorganic chemistry or related disciplines at the Ph.D. degree level with 0 to 3 years of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience

The Solar Specialist & Scheduler is the front line representative for most of All Energy Solar's residential customers and is responsible for qualifying leads into appointments for the sale of PV systems. The Solar Specialist is an authority on qualifying aspects of a solar purchase such as site characteristics, customer motivations, rate plans, available incentives, and utilities. The Solar Specialist is responsible for educating homeowners about accessibility of solar energy and for embodying the goals and vision that define All Energy Solar.
Duties

• Complete a high volume of sales call daily
• Qualify leads by determining solar energy accessibility
• Overcome common objections
• Schedule consultations for our Solar Power Consultants
• Exceed set sales targeted quota
• Work in a fast paced environment
• Determine suitability of sites using proprietary tools and satellite technology

• This is a full-time position with an expected annual salary of $50k-60k (base pay + commission)
