**Sterile Processing Tech** **Shift:** 6am - 2:45pm **Pay:** $24/hr **About the Role** We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, inspecting, and packaging a variety of medical products in a controlled manufacturing environment. You will work closely with team members, area leads, and supervisors to meet quality and productivity goals while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Clean, sterilize, inspect, and package medical products according to standard work instructions.
+ Operate and set up production equipment and fixtures as needed.
+ Perform line clearance, changeovers, and preparation work.
+ Inspect and repair your own work and assist with others' work when necessary.
+ Complete manufacturing documentation accurately and report quality issues.
+ Maintain inventory accuracy and report material shortages.
+ Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety, and production policies.
+ Maintain excellent attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Ability to read and comprehend instructions, write simple correspondence, and communicate effectively in English.
+ Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and ability to calculate averages and percentages.
+ Strong reasoning skills and ability to follow standardized processes.
+ Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Agile/SAP systems.
+ Ability to work varying shifts and in a cleanroom environment (including wearing gowns, caps, and booties).
**Preferred Skills**
+ Experience in sterile processing or medical device manufacturing.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

About the Role
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, instrumentation, and equipment dispensed by the department throughout the hospital. Prepares equipment and ensures the proper handling and storage of supplies, equipment, and instrumentation. POSITION'S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies, and equipment, and assembles, wraps, and sterilizes trays of instruments. Follows proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.
Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
Sorts mismatched sets of instruments, trays, and medical equipment and makes them available to sterile processing customers in a timely manner.
Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory, submits requisitions, collects, and distributes instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment. Performs environmental maintenance duties and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, the operating room, and in equipment storage areas.

The Sterile Processing Tech Coordinator is responsible for the allocation and completion of assigned functions by staff in the department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Coordinates sterilization schedules to meet the daily operating room (OR) needs. Coordinates staff workload to ensure the needs of the next business day instrument list are met and instruments are available for all surgical cases. Assists in training technician staff and the orientation process of new employees.
Completes sterilization, assembles and packages specialty instrument trays for procedures to ensure all instruments are clean, decontaminated and stocked to maintain a safe patient environment. Determines and ensures the proper method of cleaning necessary for different types of instruments.
Collects, reads and documents biological tests to ensure functionality of sterilizing equipment. Notifies appropriate staff of any problems related to biological test results.
Troubleshoots departmental equipment, to include sterilizer, washer, printer, etc., and restores to normal function when possible. Coordinates equipment repairs by other departments, tracks status and provides reports as requested by supervisor.
Identifies instrumentation for replacement and repair and processes accordingly. Ensures consignment equipment is signed in and processed for use according to established department policy and procedures.
Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Recommends, implements and monitors results in support of the overall goals. Promotes adherence to applicable state and federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

Responsibilities
We are actively hiring for an Endoscopy Technician.
* Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
* Function as an assistive person during endoscopy procedures by
* Protecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
* Demonstrating safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
* Speaking up with safety concerns acting as the patient's advocate
* Handling specimens according to facility policy and procedures.
* Adhering to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment
* Performing interventions to maintain the patient's wound and tissue perfusion at or above baseline levels
* Performing interventions to protect the patient from infection
* Protecting the patient's rights, dignity, and privacy
* Providing age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
* Complying with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time-out policy
* Assembling supplies and equipment required for the procedure.
* Preparing and organizing sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
* Providing instruments and supplies to the endoscopist during the procedure.
* Maintaining an organized sterile field.
* Evaluate the patient's progress toward attaining outcomes
* Provide hand-off report to other teammates that are accurate, concise and pertinent to the patient's condition and response to care.
* Maintain endoscopy instruments and accessories in working order. Troubleshoots and recognizes malfunctions
* Clean and prepare equipment and instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination areas.
* Ensure scopes are prepared for use in accordance with policies and procedures and manufacturer's instructions for use
* Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the team and other stakeholders.
* Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning patient care.
* Assist with post procedure cleaning of the procedure room and preparation of room for subsequent patients.
* Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.
* Participate in the performance appraisal process.
* Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships.
* Maintain required competencies.

* Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.

Qualifications
* High School Graduate or equivalent.
* Prior Experience as a GI Tech preferred.
* Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification.

We are currently searching for an experienced, Full-Time Endoscopy Technician, M-F from 645am-3pm who can work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks. Major responsibilities include: Assists physicians with endoscopic procedures, processes scopes, handles and processes patient specimens, assists in maintenance of all supplies.
You must possess a HS school diploma/GED and a BLS certification (or obtain within the first 6 months of employment). Previous experience in GI setting strongly preferred.
