What you'll do:

THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND
We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced SterileProcessingTechnician to join our surgery center team. You will be responsible for decontaminating, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments, trays, and equipment used at the Center. Knows, uses, maintains and operates the equipment specific to CP, i.e. steam, Sterrad, OER-Pro, sterilizers; cart washers; washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners and heat sealers as well as a variety of testing devices.
Knows and uses the processes involved in ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating delivering and monitoring usage of surgical supplies. Communicates supply issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Environmental Standards; Maintains a clean orderly work area. Completes assigned housekeeping duties.
Serves as a resource to customers on all Central Processing functions.
Performs other related job duties as required. Tracks his/her progress and compliance in regards to training, staff meeting and in-service education, etc.

Education & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be certified as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT) or grandfathered(see grandfathering clause below)
Previous Central Supply or Operating Room instrument processing experience preferred.
Familiarity with medical technology preferred.
Grandfathering: Certain individuals are grandfathered in and do not have to be certified so long as the individual must have worked for a cumulative total of one year in the four years of January 2011 to January 2015.

Requirements:
* Certification required. (IAHCSMM and/or CBSPD)
* 2-3 years previous experience working as Certified SterileProcessingTechnician.
* Must be able to read, write and speak English.
* Knows operating room instrumentation and equipment.
* Familiarity with sterile areas, including use of PPE.
* Organized in setting up operating room instrument trays.
* Understands operation of gravity sterilizers.
* Maintain sterilization logs.
* Assists with inventory of surgical supplies and instruments.
* Able to lift trays up to 25 lbs.
* Assisting with managing inventory.
Education
* High School Diploma required.

Job Summary:
HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Travel SterileProcessingTechnician (SPT) for a busy reprocessing center in Bethpage, NY. The SPT will be responsible for decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and trays according to strict protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Rotate through all areas, including decontamination
Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package instruments per established procedures
Operate STERIS washers, autoclaves, ultrasonic machines, steam/ETo sterilizers, heat sealers, and related equipment
Follow instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts
Retrieve used trays, equipment, and instruments from various clinical areas
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and correct assembly
Identify malfunctioning equipment and report promptly
Assist with stocking, ordering, and inventory management
Maintain a contaminant-free work environment in compliance with safety protocols
Requirements:
SterileProcessing Certification (CRCST or CSPD) - must remain valid for entire assignment
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
1.5+ years accepted
if
applicant has tertiary hospital experience
2+ years required for non-tertiary experience
Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, reach, and carry up to 25 lbs
Strong manual dexterity
Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal)
Preferred:
2+ years SterileProcessing experience

THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND
We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced SterileProcessingTechnician to join our surgery center team. You will be responsible for decontaminating, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments, trays, and equipment used at the Center. You will ensure timely reprocessing between cases, maintains sterilization logs, and performs routine equipment checks (e.g., autoclave QI program). You'll support patient positioning when needed and help maintain a clean, safe environment, including OR turnover and terminal cleaning.
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
You'll decontaminate and inspect all surgical instruments and trays; prepare and label them for sterilization
You'll process and store peel-packed and small items safely
You'll apply appropriate cleaning and sterilization methods per AORN standards and manufacturer guidelines
You'll operate autoclaves and sterilization equipment per policy and safety standards
Efficiently reprocesses instruments between cases and post-schedule and return sterile items to designated storage locations
You'll inspect sterile packages for expiration and integrity
Ensure all infection and safety protocols are being followed
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Has successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds one of the following credentials from an accredited organization:
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
Certified SterileProcessing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
Or an equivalent credential High school diploma or equivalent
High school diploma or equivalent experience
You have a minumum of 2 years of experience as a surgical instrument technician
You are team oriented and have strong ethical standards
You are committed to providing exceptional patient care
Surgery Center experience is preferred but not required
