ACCOUNTABILITIES
DECONTAMINATION:
Separates instruments from other articles for purposes of washing and decontamination and notifies supervisor of any missing items and reports any malfunctions.
Disassembles, cleans, and decontaminates general, specialty and loaner instrumentation.
Follows manufacturers recommendations when indicated.
Assembles instruments, sets, and peel-pouched items. Prepares special items upon request. Must be able to communicate both inter and intra departmentally.

Corewell Health is offering up to $5,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About the unit The Sterile Processing Department is a fast -paced work environment. Upon hire Team Members are expected to attend a 90-day orientation. While on orientation techs will attend an SPD 101 class where educators will teach the Sterile Processing Department standard of work and regulations. Techs will also have a preceptor while on orientation. Technicians will assemble case carts according to surgery schedules. This will include sterile instrumentation according to patient procedure. When completed technicians will transport case cart to the OR and place in designated area. Depending on your hire site in Grand Rapids, Sterile Processing Departments can anticipate 40-90 surgical cases. Sites may include small differences but can expect the same job duties with expectations. Team members can also expect to wear surgical attire in the department.
Orientation/Training
New team members are required to complete a Sterile Processing educational training course. The first 6 weeks of this 90-day course are mandatory 1st shift 0700-1530 Monday-Friday. Once the course is completed, the team member will transition to their hired shift times for the remainder of orientation.

Scope of work
Sterile Processing professionals are responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing, and distributing medical and surgical instrumentation. They are among the most vital contributors to the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Work performed in the Sterile Processing department usually follows a processing cycle. Decontam>Inspect>Assembly>Package>Sterilize>Inspect>Store>Inspect >Dispense. After use, items that can be reprocessed are returned to the decontamination area to start the process all over again, it is important to note that at each step in the process, items are inspected to ensure that they are clean, in good repair, assembled, and processed correctly. Sterile Processing Techs are also involved in the record keeping and tracking process across many different functions of their jobs. They must provide properly processed products when they are needed. The patient must be the center of every quality concern.

• Maintain specified supplies of fluids, such as plasma and blood
• Help with application of bandages
• Transfer patient to the recovery room
• Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
• Clean operating theater following surgery
• Wash and sterilize used equipment
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments used during an operation

This role is responsible for performing and supporting FTTH (Fiber to the Home) installation, including basic troubleshooting connectivity issues. Working in residential environments, the Tier 1 Technician plays a key role in delivering reliable internet services while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
This position requires the ability to learn and use technical knowledge, physical endurance, and exceptional communication skills. The role involves Training on ladder and rooftop work. Candidates must be able to handle and transport equipment weighing 75 pounds or more, work in various weather conditions, and operate independently across multiple job sites throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.

Responsibilities:
Technical Installation & Support
* Perform FTTH fiber installations and some service repair calls at residential locations.
* Conduct fiber signal performance testing (e.g., light/speed tests) by using a signal meter and test cord.
* Ability to Execute Wi-Fi signal mapping and extension recommendation ideas for mesh networks (Eero placements).
* Troubleshoot basic fiber drop issues and connectivity problems.
* Understand and apply basic electronics, connectivity principles, and diagnostic procedures.
Field Operations & Safety
* Ability to competently climb ladders on poles and other network elements.
* Safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment of 75+ pounds with or without assistance.
* Maintain company truck, tools, and personal safety gear per operational and safety guidelines.
* Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and ice.
* Operate a company vehicle safely between job sites and in accordance with company policy.
Customer Interaction & Communication
* Interact professionally and courteously with customers during all service calls.
* Explain service details, billing, and equipment features; answer related questions.
