Job Summary:
Under the direction of the SPD Manager, a sterile processing technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing and assembling medical instruments and equipment and ensures all instruments are sterilized and properly stored, organized and readily available for surgical procedures. Additionally they maintain detailed records of sterilization process and follow strict safety protocols to prevent contamination. This position plays a crucial role in preventing infections and ensures patient safety in the operating room.
SPD Technician Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Technical Diploma in sterile processing/ other related field or Associate's Degree in healthcare administration, supply chain, sterile processing, or other related field preferred.
Certified Registered Central Service Technician- preferred
Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician Certificate- preferred

Job Summary
The Sterile Process Technician II is responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment with an advanced level of skill and expertise. Essential Functions
Follows established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, preparing, packaging, disinfecting or sterilizing, and storing medical and surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Assembles complex or specialized instrument trays and sets, ensuring accuracy and readiness for surgical procedures.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a range of duties required to decontaminate, clean, prepare, store, and distribute medical supplies and equipment used in all areas of the hospital. Duties of the Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) may include but are not limited to:
* Inventories, replenishes shortages from sterile supply, inspects for sterility integrity for instrument sets and expendable items.
* Adheres to facility regulations regarding application and removal of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Rotates, restocks outdated supplies, and maintains stock levels of surgical supplies and equipment for wards, clinics, and the operating room.
