Overview
The Strategic Business Manager will be responsible for strategic communications planning and implementation of related projects and initiatives for the Utilities department for the City of Corpus Christi.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Develop and implement short and long-term communication goals, strategies, deliverables and performance metrics for program evaluation
* Develop social and electronic media strategies and campaigns that support department initiatives
* Provide leadership and guidance on messaging, communication, branding, and marketing of the department initiatives, policies, and services
* Consult with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective and engaging communication programs
* Coordinate the design, writing, and editing of print and electronic engagement sources and branding materials
* Develop, manage, and enforce the integrity of the City of Corpus Christi Utilities reputation via print and multimedia outlets
* Serve as departmental representative on special projects and committees, as assigned
* Serve as media spokesperson and departmental point of contact as required
* Provide support in planning and execution of special events in role as department outreach coordinator
* Conduct surveys for consumer feedback and branding effectiveness as well as consumer appreciation

Overview
Marina Dockhand I is responsible for maintaining the routine cleanliness of the marina facilities, grounds and assist the marina team in performing preventive maintenance to marina facilities, docks, grounds, and marina equipment.
Responsibilities
* Assist marina customers and guests with fueling operations, boat yard haul-outs and vessel sanitary pump-out services. Crews as a deckhand onboard marina rescue craft assisting with vessel towing and/or marine base emergencies.
* Interact and provide general information to marina customers and the general public; provide safety patrols during special events; enforce marina regulations.
* Conduct daily and weekly inspections of all vehicles to ensure they are safe for daily operation.
* Perform custodial duties to marina facilities and marina grounds; including cleaning and restocking facility and public restrooms.
* Provide ground maintenance, collect and empty trash receptacles within marina complex, remove trash from marina waters within the immediate areas of the marina complex.
* Perform carpentry and preventive maintenance of marina docks and piers, facilities, and marina infrastructure; replace deck boards, pier beams, pier brackets, piling guides, gates, fencing, etc.
* Operate various types of power tools and equipment to accomplish tasks such as Kawasaki Mule, weed-eater, blower, power washer, drills, cutting torch, saws, hydraulic press, wrench, cable cutters, etc.
* Maintain and repair minor plumbing to facilities, docks, and piers; replace and repair pipes, PVC fittings, water valves, sanitary hose lines, replace toilet flanges, etc.
* Provide minor electrical maintenance and repairs to facilities, piers and docks.
* Perform Search & Rescue of persons or vessels in distress within marina waters, Corpus Christi Bay and Nueces Bay.
* Operate as a deckhand or operator onboard a rescue vessel, provide minor first aid and CPR when required.
* Assist with boat lift hoisting, provide rigging blocking and bracing of vessels on land, launching of vessels, and acts as a traffic safety control guide during craning operations.
* May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Licenses, Other Requirements
* Previous experience with building and/or grounds maintenance with skills in painting, carpentry, plumbing and minor electrical preferred
* Ability to read and write and follow diagrams; perform basic mathematical calculations; ability to read chemical and cleaning product labels and follow correct mixing and measuring instructions strongly preferred
* Must be able to swim
* Will be required to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within (6) six months from date of hire

* A minimum of (1) one year experience in marina or maritime private or commercial operation involving public contact preferred
* A valid driver's license is required

* Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
* Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
* Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
* Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries
What qualifications you will need:
* High School graduate or equivalent
* Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments
* Previous experience strongly preferred
* Basic computer knowledge
