Examines unused equipment and instruments for gross contamination and transports covered used instruments to utility room. Responsible for sterile core activities, able to prioritize duties: Completion of picking case carts, restocking, reordering supplies as needed, assisting with O.R. room needs as necessary. Assists with appropriate measures in emergency situations. Works in conjunction with Circulator in preparation for the next scheduled case. Initiates and facilitates room turnovers: Light housekeeping duties, procurement of equipment, supplies and X-Rays. Restocking of unused supplies and equipment. Participates in the reprocessing process.

At Arrow Dental, LLC, we're passionate about helping you on your journey to be better. We are currently seeking a Sterilization Technician in our Dental Clinic located in Milwaukie, Oregon. This position will assist in the management of the dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA and CDC standards. Handles instrument cleaning, sterilization/disinfection and re-circulation. Performs dental treatment room disinfection.
Clinic hours Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Arrow Dental, a Moda Health subsidiary, primarily serves Medicaid patients. This is to help the community with the large population of Medicaid members that became Medicaid eligible due to the Affordable Care Act.

Pay Ranges: $17.34 to $21.41 per hour (depending on experience)
Required Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
0- 2 years dental office experience preferred.
Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced dental practice.
Ability to read and comprehend, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to work well under pressure work with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
Primary Functions:
Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
Sterilizes and delivers instruments to treatment areas; positions instruments for dentist's access; suctions; passes instruments
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols
Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follows manufacturer's instructions; calls for repairs when necessary
Maintains dental supplies inventory; places orders for supplies; verifies receipt of supplies
Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
Contributes to team effort
