Responsibilities
Prepares and sterilizes surgical instruments and supplies according to established procedures and techniques.
Verifies that equipment functions properly, and the repair or replacement of defective instruments.
Sorts sets of instrument trays, and medical equipment and makes them available to sterileprocessing customers in a timely manner.
Assembles special procedure trays, surgical instrument trays and case carts.
Delivers sterilized supplies to, and retrieves used supplies and trays from hospital department and clinic locations.
Inspects and ensures proper functioning of instruments and equipment; facilitates the replenishment of low, broken or missing items.

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a SterileProcessingTechnician, youll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your responsibilities will include:
* Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
* Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
* Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
* Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
* Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

* Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

As the Certified Instrument/SterileProcessing Tech, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will contribute to the company's mission and vision by assisting with the care of patients by providing properly cleaned, sterilized, highly disinfected instruments and supplies.
What you will do in this role:
* You will demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment
* You will maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care
* You will demonstrate awareness of appropriate sterilization methods needed for different instruments in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
* You will demonstrate knowledge of high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
* You will maintain a daily log, testing for efficacy of disinfecting solution with each cycle and perform biological testing
* You will monitor and record all test loads and sterilization cycles while documenting any deviation from normal functioning to OR Coordinator and/or Nurse Manager
* You will maintain an accurate log for equipment out for repair
Qualifications for this role:
* One year experience in surgical instrument sterilizationprocessing, preferably in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center environment
