The Department of Central Sterilizing Services is seeking to fill a full-time Central Service Technicians on 3rd shift. This position will be available to work Monday-Friday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with rotating on-call/weekends/holidays. This position will be located within the Integrated Services Center in Coralville, IA. Openings are also available within the Turn Center within the Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City. Under general supervision, this position performs technical duties involving all aspects of sterile processing: decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization, sterile storage, distribution of sterile medical devices and inventorying, stocking and distribution of medical supplies. Position Responsibilities: Decontaminates, inspects, cleans, sorts, disassembles and reassembles complex surgical instrument and implant trays, operates automatic endoscope washers, sonic washers, and mechanical washer/decontaminators. The Sterile Processing Tech I is responsible for the building and coordination of instruments and case carts between the Operating Room, Ancillary departments and Sterile Processing. Will clean, decontaminate, prepare, assemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation and related equipment used by surgical services and other clinical departments.
