Long Term Open Ended (no end date) with the ability to go direct if desired (generally earned around the 1 year mark)

AIRFRAMES:

PC-12, Dash 8 ( Q200 / Q300 / Q400 ), Dornier 328, A-29

SHIFT:

All over the place - depends on hangar & program - candidate will need to as will need to ask during candidate's interview

Some people work four tens, some work five eights

Rarely ever any weekends ever unless absolute dire need

Must be flexible if the team needs you to work Nights for a period of time

75% of workforce is on Day shift, 25% is on Night shift

*OT is regularly available but we cannot guarantee it every week

PAY:

Per Diem contractors = $40 / hr (23/17 split) + 6 Paid Sick Days + 6 Paid Holidays

- Eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance through Aerotek

Barr Engineering Co. structures technician job description

The person in this position will work with project teams to provide computer-aided drafting expertise, primarily using AutoCAD software. Typical duties may include data collection, planning, and problem solving related to structural design. Project work will include drafting design of foundations and supports, steel framing, access platforms, stacks, pumping and piping systems, industrial equipment, conveyor systems, and various details. Practical design knowledge of steel and concrete structures such as buildings, dams, hydraulic structures, equipment supports, foundations, retaining walls, and other similar structures will be required, as well as the ability to visualize three-dimensional relationships from two-dimensional views. Drawings will be completed using AutoCAD and/or Revit software. Occasional assistance with mechanical, electrical, or civil design may also be required.
Minimum Qualifications:

Two-year technical certificate or other education or training directly related to the job responsibilities described above; past structural design job experience using CAD; or job experience in a related industry (construction, detailing, fabrication, etc.) where reading and understanding engineering design drawings was required Ability and desire to work independently and collaboratively with structural engineers and CAD and design staff Attention to detail Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a safe manner Flexible working style and willingness to modify personal schedules when required to meet deadlines and client needs Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship Acceptable driving record

The Structures Technician 3 will work with missile drawings to assemble, fit, fasten, and install parts of space vehicles or missiles such as frames, bulkheads and skins and assemble, fit, fasten, and install parts of equipment racks using tools such as shears, rivet gun, drills and other specific tools. The successful candidate will perform highly complex duties requiring an extensive and/or specialized level of knowledge to perform processes and procedures. The selected candidate should have a highly developed level of expertise through a combination of job-related training and on-the-job experience.

Layout, fabricate, assemble, mate, install, check or troubleshoot and repair production and prototype missile/aircraft structures, parts and mechanical assemblies. Read and interpret information from mechanical/structural, planning, process specifications, diagrams, engineering drawings and other instructions to determine the methods and sequence of operations to layout, assemble, and install precision parts and assemblies. Layout coordinated hole patterns, cutouts, trim lines, mating points, assembly and installation locations using precision measuring instruments and equipment. Assemble and mate missile parts and assemblies. Attach structural parts and assemblies using riveting and hand and power tools, hand trim and finish. Drill, route, ream, countersink, spot-face and counter bore parts. Modify or rebuild parts to mold line or configuration changes. Incorporate major engineering changes and modifications. Present a clean and neat work area to customers. May orient, train and check the work of lower level employees.
