Job Duties for the A-Shift Surface Grinder in Rochester, NY:

Maintain a safe, organized work environment.

• Setup and run various grinding jobs within given time requirements.

• Setup and run concurrent jobs on multiple machines when necessary.

• Perform inspection to ensure good quality.

• Run production grinding work.

• Work extra hours required to maintain customer delivery requirements.

• Perform daily preventative maintenance routines on grinding equipment.

Job Requirements for the A-Shift Surface Grinder in Rochester, NY:

3-5 years machining (grinding) experience on conventional or CNC equipment.

• Advanced Blue-print reading skills.

• Experience dressing forms in grinding wheels. (Radii/Angles)

• Ability to setup and run concurrent jobs on multiple machines.

• Able to design and fixture parts as necessary to complete jobs.

• Ability to precision grind parts with intricate specifications.

• Ability/Availability to work overtime in order to meet customer requirements.

• Ability to use standard measuring equipment such as micrometers, comparators, CMM experience a plus.

• Shop math skills. (Strong trigonometry)

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills to allow proper communication between co-workers and management.

• Ability to work to metric dimensions.

• Experience with Lean and ISO systems.

A manufacturing company is offering immediate, full-time positions for Surface Grinders. You will work Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
• Operate surface grinder
• Load and unload parts, lift and lower grinding table, and handle parts
• Inspect parts using micrometer and dial caliper
• Move stock from shelves and place machined parts back in stock
• Complete shift paperwork
• Clean work area
Qualifications:
• Must have prior experience operating surface grinders
• Must know basic math
• Must have knowledge of micrometers and other hand tools
• Must be able to stand and walk constantly, frequent bending and twisting, and lifting 30 pounds
• Must have the ability of changing jobs at any time due to the customer needs

Where You Will Work
Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.

Responsibilities
• Able to set-up, operate, and troubleshoot surface grinders in the tool and die department
• Prepares machine parts and tooling as required
• Remove, replace and/or adjust machine parts for proper positioning of carbide, pins, tools, and dies
• Able to grind various types of tool steels
• Inspects tools, pins, and dies to verify correct machine set-up and operation by using micrometers, gauges and measuring devices
• Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs
• Keeps work area and equipment clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis

Qualifications
• 5+ years of surface grinding and finishing experience
• Experience with carbide and other tool steels
• Quality/Quantity - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner
• Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly
