**Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
+ Minimum three (3) years experience as a certified pipe welder.
+ GTAW - GMAW - FCAW - SMAW experience.
+ Applicant must pass a pre employment pipe welding test.

Reporting to the Primary Care Clinic Manager, the Medical Assistant I delivers outstanding customer service by efficiently coordinating provider schedules and promoting clear communication between providers and patients. Under direct provider supervision, this role also performs a wide range of clinical procedures in both the primary care and behavioral health departments.
Essential Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1.) This position requires compliance with MSHS' compliance standards, including the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.
2.) Prepares for scheduled visits and rooms patients according to protocol and maximize provider/patient time.
3.) Measure and record vital signs in the EHR
4.) Answer incoming phone calls and patient-portal messages, routing them to the appropriate staff member or department.
5.) Performs testing and procedures as delegated by provider and completes all documentation e.g. Point of Care tests and EKGs.
6.) Collects and prepares laboratory specimens for courier pick-up and completes all documentation per protocol.
7.) Administers injectable medications and vaccines as delegated by the provider once this individual has been trained and received approval to perform administrations.
8.) Provide direct patient support when needs arise or at the provider's direction. Example but not limited to: escorting to exam rooms, positioning for exams, assisting with mobility or dressing, and completing patient forms.
9.) Informs patients of test results per the provider's instructions, documents patient communications and close referral loops.
10.) Assists in reporting communicable diseases to Public Health.
11.) Keeps rooms clean, orderly and stocked with adequate medical supplies, sterilize equipment as required.
Non-Essential Functions
1.) Assist team members as needed to provide excellent patient care.
2.) Crosstrain for other positions within FQHC.
3.) Other related duties as assigned.

1.) Work is performed primarily inside a heated, ventilated, and well-lighted environment.
