What is a table games supervisor and how to become one

Updated January 8, 2025
4 min read

Table games supervisors work in casinos or other gaming establishments. They are responsible for monitoring activities usually on one floor of the casino. They make sure patrons and dealers respect the policies of the establishment and the laws regulating gaming activities. They resolve customer complaints, pay out chips or tokens, and tend to broken machines.

Working in this position, you will observe the games taking place at tables and make sure they follow etiquette. It will be your job to manage the staff on your floor, move dealers from game to game, hire and train workers, and educate them on house rules. You are the one to establish and enforce the rules of the games, too. Taking care of the personal needs of VIP guests will be your job as well.

No specialized education is necessary to get on board here, but you will need ample experience working in gaming environments. Excellent customer service skills are non-negotiable. You will have to be polite and professional at all times, displaying the charisma necessary for anyone filling a leader role. You can make $35,696 a year on average working in this position.
