ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Patient Care:
Provides medical care to Floating Hospital pediatric, adolescent and adult patients.
Takes relevant patient history.
Identifies patient needs and makes diagnoses.
Develops and implements treatment plans using diagnostic data.
Performs complete well-care examinations including physical examinations.
Performs complete gynecological histories and physical examinations as indicated.
Writes prescriptions and informs patients about medications prescribed.
Completes medical forms and documentation related to patient care.
Makes and tracks all referrals to other agencies and providers, with follow-up care provided.
Assists with immunizations and/or phlebotomy, as needed, to ensure smooth patient flow.
Works collaboratively with physician and specialists for consultation and referral purposes.
Meets with designated supervising physician on a regular and predetermined basis, in order to receive recommendations and collaborate towards delivering quality health care to patients, based on accepted standards of-care.
Participates in Peer Review process, as defined by The Floating Hospital.
Encourages health promotion, disease prevention, and health maintenance. Provides health education on topics including but not limited to preventive medicine and counseling on chronic diseases, as well as parenting, prenatal, nutrition, family- planning, medication usage, and stress management.
Provides patient advocacy, as appropriate for the site.
Participates in patient outreach, as appropriate for the site.
Administrative Duties:
Observes, implements, and promotes the federal regulations as defined by HIPAA and Policies and Procedures as defined by The Floating Hospital.
When at a satellite site, acts as on-site supervisor of medical assistants.
Teaches medical assistants about: patient care and triage, to improve patient flow, and communicates with Clinic Flow Manager regarding status of flow at clinic site.
Participates in case conferences in which patient care is discussed.
Assists the Chief Medical Officer in the development and implementation of medical protocols and medical forms.
May initiate and participate in research related to health care or allied fields, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer.
Makes suggestions to clinic supervisors to improve patient care.
Requirements
Unrestricted New York State Physician Assistant/Nursing and Nurse Practitioner license; minimum of two years' clinical experience preferable; familiarity with word processing and other computer applications; ability to speak Spanish and/or other languages preferable.
This opening requires that you work two days a week at this location in addition two days at our Legacy Assessment Center located at 108-75 Avenue D, 11236.

Provides crisis intervention and/or counseling to diffuse conflicts among patients.
Completes medical forms and documentation related to patient care including any necessary to facilitate transfer, and if indicated, referrals to outside programs or psychiatric clinics.
Completes documentation including diagnosis, treatment, and billing, thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely fashion.
Collaborates on and cosigns treatment plans in a timely fashion.
Makes and/or tracks all referrals to other mental health agencies and providers.
Consults with primary care providers to focus on psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
Works collaboratively with specialists for consultation and referral purposes.
Coordinates patient's psychiatric care with medical clinic and shelter staff, as well as outside providers.
Provides further guidance in person, or by telephone, when other MH clinical staff may need counseling advice for patients.
Coordinates emergency responses, including a team to minimize patient's danger to self and others, direct discussion with EMS/FDNY regarding patient's condition, referral to psychiatric or medical emergency departments and follow-up while patient is in the emergency department or upon release.
Maintains ultimate responsibility for directing the course of the patient's psychiatric care and treatment plan within the scope of his/her expertise.
Encourages health promotion, disease prevention, and health maintenance.
Provides patient advocacy, as appropriate for the site.
Participates in case-conference and case management activities.
Performs Psychiatric Evaluations upon request for DHS.
Other functions as assigned.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a valid, unrestricted NYS license and DEA registration and have prior experience with EMR.
Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

• Contact supervisor to escalate issues that require resolution by the PM Vendor
• Work closely with the supervisors to ensure denials are corrected and appealed as appropriate in a timely manner.
• Review the Athena worklist and Dentrix AR report for initial claims submission or denied claim.
• Handle follow-up and appeals with assigned payers for unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims.
• Contact payers directly and work with the supervisor to resolve issues.
• Determine the reasons for the denials, correct the issue, and resubmit the claims.
• Contact the payer for additional information about non-payment.
• Utilize the various insurance portals to obtain additional information for rebilling claims.
• Reviews and submits all billable claims to insurance payers, third-party payers, and self-pay services in Dentrix system.
• Prepare daily batches of claim submissions in the Dentrix system and review the clearinghouse batch report.
• Review Athena worklist queue daily and follow up on denied claims.
• Assist with the maintenance of the daily claim submission tracking log.
• Receives and properly posts all electronic and manual payments and adjustment from insurance companies and patients into Dentrix system.

• Reconciles Cash received in the Athena and Dentrix system.
• Prepares deposit for cash and check received.
• Retrieves/obtains capitation rosters from the various insurance companies and updates the capitation file on the shared drive.
• Retrieves/obtains PCMH rosters from the various insurance companies and updates the file on the shared drive.
• Retrieves/obtains per member per month rosters from the various insurance companies and update the files on the shared
drive for UDS and MCVR reporting.
• Maintains the unpotable dashboard in Athena.

• Processes patient refunds.
• Maintain a current knowledge of payer guidelines including Medicaid, Medicare, and Third Party.
• Maintain a system knowledge of the practice management systems - Dentrix and Athena.
• Attends meetings and training with the approval of the Supervisors.
• Complete special projects and report findings to management.
• Must comply with all HIPAA laws regarding electronic health records and patient information.

This is a Hybrid position.
Requirements
The Billing Associate position requires two to five years of experience in the medical billing environment. Some college backgrounds in health care or a financial field are highly recommended. The Associate must be familiar with medical and coding terminology and have excellent analytical and meticulous organizational skills. The candidate must possess strong skills in MS Office, MS Excel, and use of the various insurance portals. Must have experience working with Athena Practice Management System. Must be able to work effectively in a remote environment.

•Maintain ongoing scheduling of referral appointments; tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote staff
awareness of the referral process.
•Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information.
•Assemble information concerning patient's clinical background and referral needs as per referral guidelines; provide
appropriate information to supervisor and referring providers.
•Contact organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met when needed.
•Review details and expectations about the referral with patients.
•If referral is emergent or urgent, referral request is process by the Referral Coordinator or designee in the ECW same day or
less than two business days.
•Be the point of contact for patients and families, which need answers for asking questions and concerns regarding referrals.
•Ensure that referrals are addressed in a timely manner; this shall not exceed 10 business days.
•Remind patients of scheduled appointments via mail or phone and to communicate this to Director of Registrations
•Maintain referrals logs on outgoing referrals and incoming consult reports.
•Follow up with specialist within two weeks of patient's appointment to ensure he/she has kept their appointment and request
a copy of the consultation report.
•Ensure that the patient's primary care chart is up to date with information from specialist consult notes, related to their health.
•Establish and maintain relationships with identified outside referral providers, hospital, and clinics.
•All other duties assigned.
Requirements:
•High school diploma/associate degree or an equivalent in training and/or experience; minimum of two years front
desk/registration/referral experience; valid NY state drivers or non-driver ID/license.

•A referral specialist must possess organizational and communication skills which must be prevalent in this individual. Must

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepare patient, sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist dentist during dental procedures.
Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
Take Dental x-rays on patients.
Document dental care services by charting in patient records
Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintain dental supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Perform insurance verification/eligibility, registration, collection of co-pays, and scheduling of patients, working the reception area as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Environment:
Dental Assistants work in a well-lighted, clean environment near the dental chair so that they can arrange instruments, materials, and medication and hand them to the dentist when needed. Dental assistants must wear gloves, masks, eyewear, and protective clothing to protect themselves and their patients form infectious diseases. Assistants also follow safety procedure to minimize the risks associated with the use of x-ray machines. The agency observes a no-smoking policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Patient Care:
Provides medical care to Floating Hospital pediatric, adolescent and adult patients.
Takes relevant patient history.

Provides patient advocacy, as appropriate for the site.

Administrative Duties:
Observes, implements, and promotes the federal regulations as defined by HIPAA and Policies and Procedures as defined by The Floating Hospital.
When at a satellite site, acts as on-site supervisor of medical assistants.
Teaches medical assistants about: patient care and triage, to improve patient flow, and communicates with Clinic Flow Manager regarding status of flow at clinic site.
Participates in case conferences in which patient care is discussed.
Assists the Chief Medical Officer in the development and implementation of medical protocols and medical forms.
May initiate and participate in research related to health care or allied fields, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer.
Makes suggestions to clinic supervisors to improve patient care.
Requirements:
Unrestricted New York State Physician Assistant/Nursing and Nurse Practitioner license; minimum of two years' clinical experience preferable; familiarity with word processing and other computer applications; ability to speak Spanish and/or other languages preferable.

• Receives electronic coded claims for all Medical and Dental services rendered from all locations in the Practice Management
System.
• Review Accounts Receivable reports and provide feedback on a weekly basis to the billing supervisor and include common
trends that impact the revenue cycle such as coding or eligibility issues.
• Contact supervisor to escalate issues that require resolution by the PM Vendor
• Work closely with the supervisors to ensure denials are corrected and appealed as appropriate in a timely manner.
• Review the Athena worklist and Dentrix AR report for initial claims submission or denied claim.
• Handle follow-up and appeals with assigned payers for unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims.
• Contact payers directly and work with the supervisor to resolve issues.
• Determine the reasons for the denials, correct the issue, and resubmit the claims.
• Contact the payer for additional information about non-payment.
• Utilize the various insurance portals to obtain additional information for rebilling claims.
• Reviews and submits all billable claims to insurance payers, third-party payers, and self-pay services in Dentrix system.
• Prepare daily batches of claim submissions in the Dentrix system and review the clearinghouse batch report.
• Review Athena worklist queue daily and follow up on denied claims.
• Assist with the maintenance of the daily claim submission tracking log.
• Receives and properly posts all electronic and manual payments and adjustment from insurance companies and patients into Dentrix system.
• Reviews and sends patient statements in Dentrix coordinating with the Billing Manager prior to submission.

• Sort and categorize incoming mail for delivery to the contacts at various sites.
• Maintains Athena correspondence dashboard.
• Reconciles Cash received in the Athena and Dentrix system.
• Prepares deposit for cash and check received.
• Retrieves/obtains capitation rosters from the various insurance companies and updates the capitation file on the shared drive.
• Retrieves/obtains PCMH rosters from the various insurance companies and updates the file on the shared drive.
• Retrieves/obtains per member per month rosters from the various insurance companies and update the files on the shared
drive for UDS and MCVR reporting.
• Maintains the unpotable dashboard in Athena.

Requirements:
The Billing Associate position requires two to five years of experience in the medical billing environment. Some college backgrounds in health care or a financial field are highly recommended.
