As a Field Training Specialist, your mission is to ensure that Best In Class training is taking place in your assigned stores so that every employee has the opportunity to flourish. You accomplish this by establishing and supporting Certified Training Stores in partnership with the local Supervisor that provide a consistent, top quality Manager in Training (MIT) Program. You also accomplish this by developing certified position trainers in each unit who deliver consistent and validated learning experiences aligned with published training materials and processes. You are responsible for the success of the Train the Trainer program in your stores, ensuring that every trainer is certified by you and prepared for their teaching responsibilities. You use the Teaching vs. Telling Mindset at all times as the foundation of effective training experiences. You will deliver Periodic and Quarterly reports that demonstrate that training programs are being completed, validated, and documented for all roles. To be successful in this role, you must be passionate about teaching and upholding the details of Taziki's Training and be able to communicate effectively and professionally to store managers, hourly employees, area supervisors/operators, and the corporate team.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Certified Trainer Development
Recruit, interview, and select position trainers in each assigned unit from existing staff following trainer criteria guidelines
Personally conduct all Train the Trainer programs in each assigned unit to produce prepared and certified position trainers
Provide 1-to-1 coaching and accountability to each certified position trainer to deliver validated training results required for each trainee
Be an advocate and example for the Quest training platform as part of daily Taziki's employee life
Deliver clear and effective communication to the Field Training Department, General Managers, and Area Supervisors with valuable Periodic progress reports on the results and action plans for each assigned unit
Track food safety certifications and proctor necessary exams for each assigned unit and report results to the Field Training Manager
Collaborate with the Operations team on 30/60/90 post-opening training handoff for assigned new units
Identify and develop Senior Trainers from the certified trainer pool for growth opportunities like NSOs and other assignments
Training Stores and MIT Program
Work with assigned Certified Training Stores when there are enrolled MITs to ensure management training validation and conduct MIT progress reviews
Execute weekly face-to-face touchpoints with all MITs during their program to measure progress
Validate MIT graduation readiness and conduct Certifying Evaluations
Communicate MIT progress and documented completions to the Field Training Department
Provide ongoing development and coaching of traning standards at Certified Training Store for managers and crew
Other
Personally conduct all New Hire Welcome & Orientation sessions on a weekly basis as hiring volume of hourly roles demands
Provide training support both in and out of market as needed, such as New Store Openings, Manager/Operator Training, and special training programs
Build strong relationships with General Managers and Area Supervisors based on candor, trust, and results to promote confidence and investment in Training
Continuously develop and improve operational effectiveness, guest satisfaction, sales and profitability through training processes

Job Summary
Each day at Taziki's is a little different - part of what keeps it exciting! You might have an opening shift or a closing shift.
For an opening shift, mornings are spent helping your prep crew ready the store for lunch service and preparing catering orders for guests, keeping a close eye on food safety practices and recipe perfection. Before the doors open, gather your team for pre-shift (or even a family meal!), and catch them up on the newest Taziki's updates like a recipe change or a new feature of our Taz Rewards program. You'll enjoy meeting the great people in your community as you touch tables and help guests with their Take-Out orders - get to know them by name! During the afternoons, managing shift change, you'll juggle helping on the line while getting a PM prep sheet ready or looking ahead at dinner orders coming in online.
If you're working a PM shift, once you check the state of your team's stations, you'll help the team push through busy online ordering hours for Take-Out dinners while giving Dine-In guests great service as well. As the shift winds down, you'll use your evening counts and tomorrow's catering orders to make prep sheets for your AM team, setting them up for another successful day!
Responsibilities:

Setting the tone for the shift and giving clear, calm directions to your team about their duties

Before the doors open, gather your team for pre-shift (or even a family meal!), and catch them up on the newest Taziki's updates like a recipe change or a new feature of our Taz Rewards program. You'll enjoy meeting the great people in your community as you touch tables and help guests with their Take-Out orders - get to know them by name! During the afternoons, managing shift change, you'll juggle helping on the line while getting a PM prep sheet ready or looking ahead at dinner orders coming in online.
If you're working a PM shift, once you check the state of your team's stations, you'll help the team push through busy online ordering hours for Take-Out dinners while giving Dine-In guests great service as well. As the shift winds down, you'll use your evening counts and tomorrow's catering orders to make prep sheets for your AM team, setting them up for another successful day!
Responsibilities:
Serving guests, making meaningful connections with them
Opening & closing tasks
Being responsible for the restaurant when a manager isn't on duty
Setting the tone for the shift and giving clear, calm directions to your team about their duties
Mastering menu and product knowledge
Supporting or working stations when needed (kitchen included)
Prepping food and doing side work
Following proper cash handling and payment procedures
Maintaining Health Department Standards throughout each shift
Following proper Alcohol Handling policies and procedures
Proper food handling and storage of food products
Maintaining proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Prior food service experience preferred
Leadership, guest service, and verbal communication skills with guests/team members
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to the policies and procedures
Energetic, ready to learn, loves fresh food
Work flexible schedule
Dependable, reliable, and trustworthy
Must have or obtain a Food Manager's certification shortly after beginning employment
All Employees Must:
Understand and abide by all company standards and policies (provided in your handbook)

Your Working Conditions/ Hours: A typical work day at Taziki's may look like:
Morning shift - 7am - 4pm
Evenings - 4pm - 10pm
Weekends- when applicable
Holidays - when applicable (CLOSED Thanksgiving & Christmas)
*Hours will vary by store. You may work in a typical restaurant kitchen environment which includes but is not limited to using equipment such as a flattop and char grill, oven, slicer, mixer and food processor.
