The Vice President, Content Writer and Strategist leads TCW's enterprise content marketing function, driving the development and execution of a cohesive thought leadership and branded content strategy that amplifies TCW's voice globally across institutional, intermediary, and advisor audiences.
This individual will collaborate closely with senior leaders, portfolio managers, and subject matter experts to craft narratives that reflect TCW's investment expertise and brand value propositions. Essential Duties
Editorial Strategy:
* Define and execute TCW's firmwide content strategy to elevate TCW's brand visibility and deepen understanding of TCW's expertise across macro perspectives and asset classes (Fixed Income, Alternatives, and Equities), and investment vehicles (ETFs, mutual funds, BDCs, Intervals funds)
* Develop differentiated content programs and recurring series designed to break through a crowded market, build audience loyalty, and position TCW as a sought-after thought leader.
* Partner with senior leadership, CIOs, portfolio managers, and distribution teams to surface opportunities to develop content aligned to enterprise growth objectives and commercial priorities.
* Research, draft, and refine long-form and short-form content-including thought leadership, articles, commentary, scripts, and campaign narratives-ensuring clarity, consistency, and a strong TCW point of view.
* Drive editorial and storytelling excellence, claiming TCW areas of expertise and communicating TCW's differentiators across investment philosophy, CIO insights, and products.
* Align content initiatives with broader marketing, brand, and sales enablement programs to maximize reach, relevance, and cohesion.
* Collaborate with Marketing stakeholders and leadership to ensure content is discoverable, integrated, and optimized across digital touchpoints.
Content Creation and Curation:
* Lead the development, writing, editing, and curation of high-quality content, including thought leadership articles, market insights, commentaries, and multimedia (e.g. video, podcast) storytelling.
* Translate investment and market intelligence into clear, engaging, and compliant narratives for institutional investors, financial advisors, consultants and the general public.
* Maintain a unified editorial calendar to align content deployment across TCW.com, social, and email channels.
* Partner with SMEs, business leaders, and product marketers to produce content that embeds TCW's brand value propositions and supports key marketing objectives.
* Ensure all content aligns with TCW's brand standards, compliance requirements, and audience needs.
* Collaborate across the marketing team to drive TCW's SEO strategy, ensuring content is optimized for discoverability and organic growth.
* Partner with the Social Media Strategist to amplify content across social channels, extending reach and engagement through cohesive storytelling.
* Coordinate with marketing partners to map journeys for TCW signature content programs, track engagement, and connect content consumption to client and lead activity.
* Manage the end-to-end compliance process for all content.
Measurement & Optimization:
* Establish KPIs to evaluate performance across reach, engagement, and conversion metrics.
* Leverage analytics platforms (HubSpot, Seismic, Google Analytics, native dashboards, Conductor (SEO) to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Translate performance insights into actionable recommendations that guide editorial priorities and resource allocation.
* Deliver regular reporting that demonstrates the impact of content marketing on brand visibility and commercial outcomes.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or CFA charter holder preferred.
* Minimum of eight years of experience leading content strategy, editorial, or communications within financial services or asset management.
* Deep understanding of investment markets, products, and audiences (institutional, intermediary, and wealth).
* Proven ability to partner with senior executives and investment professionals to develop and refine content themes.
* Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex investment insights into accessible, differentiated content.
* Expertise in SEO, content discoverability, and data-informed editorial planning.
* Experience collaborating with digital, social, and web teams to execute integrated marketing programs.
* Fluency in MarTech and analytics tools such as HubSpot, Conductor, Yext, and Google Analytics.

Estimated Compensation:
Base Salary: For an NY based position, the base salary range is $150K-180K. This is an anticipated range for the base salary only.
