Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.

Position Duties
The Director of Community Investment leads special projects and reform initiatives within DPSCS. This role involves close collaboration with the Office of the Secretary to partner with communities statewide, delivering impactful events and programming. The Director serves as the Department's community engagement liaison. POSITION DUTIES
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Reviews and analyzes the content and format of all information technology and professional services procurement submissions from DGS OSP procurement officers and other agencies' procurement officers for adherence and conformance to State procurement regulations and policies.
Provides managerial support to train, assign, review and approve the above-described work performed by lower-level procurement officers at DGS OSP and other agencies.
Works on strategically comprehensive enterprise-wide contracts, master service agreements, structured intergovernmental agreements and other high level procurement projects. Conducts complex IT and professional services procurements for the department or for the collective benefit of State agencies and/or assists other unit staff with such procurements.
Assists in resolving protests and disputes between agencies, DGS and contractors. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of procurement laws, policies, and procedures, and effectively resolves issues in compliance with established guidelines and regulations.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding all qualifications.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
At least eight (8) years of relevant professional procurement experience, of which two years must be in a leadership or managerial role.
Experience working in procurement or contract management for a Maryland State agency is strongly preferred.
Experience leading and overseeing multi-disciplinary teams, providing coaching and mentoring, and communicating with all levels of staff and management is strongly preferred.
Control agency procurement management, preferably in Information Technology and Professional Services procurement is preferred.
Experience with FMIS, eMMA, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.

Job Description:
This is an instructional level position. The incumbent will undergo formalized training in law enforcement methods and procedures both in the classroom and in the field.
Applicants who successfully complete both the background investigation and medical clearance process will be assigned as a Cadet to an Entry Level Academy Training Class and will receive formal instruction leading to certification in Basic Law Enforcement. Proficiency is measured through written, oral, and practical examination, the cumulative total of which will normally establish an incumbent's rank as a police officer at a level immediately above Police Officer Candidate. Instructions are explicit and supervision is provided continuously.
Upon successful completion of Entry Level Academy Training and the Field Training Evaluation Program (FTEP), an officer in this class will be assigned to a rotating shift and responsible for enforcing federal, state, and local statutes, laws, and regulations. Annual Base Salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies as follows:
GS-5 and GS-7 $40,332 - $109,952 per year
Locality pay varies by duty location.Note: A fully trained CBPO is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary. Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level. Promotions are at the discretion of the agency. Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental and other insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan akin to a traditional and ROTH 401(k) offering.
Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience:A minimum of three (3) years full-time general work experience that demonstrates the ability to meet and deal with people and the ability to learn and be able to apply a body of facts; OR
Education Substitution:A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four (4)-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR
Combination of Experience and Education:A combination of successfully completed college education AND general work experience. This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial college transcripts submitted with your application.
You qualify for the GS-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized full-time work experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
Performing physical inspections of people, documents or goods for criminal activity, fraud, and/or illegal operations.
Utilizing observational techniques, evaluating facts, and reviewing documentation while applying Federal, State, or local laws and regulations.
Making determinations in compliance with laws and regulations that may lead to arrests, seizure of property, fines, and/or penalties based on findings. OR for the GS-7 grade level:
Education Substitution:A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average (3.0 or higher), or (3) honor society membership; OR one (1) full year of graduate-level education. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work: OR
Combination of Experience and Education:A combination of specialized work experience equivalent to the next lower grade level AND graduate level education from an accredited college or university. Other Requirements:
Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
Residency: You must have had primary U.S. residency (includes protectorates as declared under international law) for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years.
Age Restriction: In accordance with Public Law 100-238, this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions. Candidates must be referred for selection to the Customs and Border Protection Officer position before reaching their 40th birthday in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Directive 251-03. The age restriction may not apply if you are currently serving or have previously served in a federal civilian law enforcement (non-military) position covered by Title 5 U.S.C. 8336(c) or Title 5 U.S.C. 8412(d).

Formal Training:You will be required to complete a paid pre-academy orientation for approximately two (2) weeks at your home port. You will then attend a 101-day training program - CBP Field
Operations Academy - conducted at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Glynco, GA. This training consists of basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, examination of cargo/bags/merchandise, physical fitness, etc. Candidates assigned to the southern border, Miami, or Puerto Rico duty locations must attend and pass an online Spanish training program, which will be completed at their home port. Successful completion of the Academy is required for this position.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is currently seeking applicants for Park Police Officer Candidate positions. The Park Police secure and protect over 27,000 acres of park property in Prince George's County, on a 24-hour basis. Minimum Qualifications
Experience: No previous experience in law enforcement is required.
Education: High school diploma or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).
Age: Age requirements in accordance with the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission (currently age 21 by graduation from academy).
Examination: Candidate applicants must pass the Commission's written Police Officer Candidate examination, must pass an oral interview conducted by a Police Assessment board.
Successfully pass background investigation and pre-employment medical requirements. Abackground investigation will be made on each candidate and the candidate must meet the Commission's suitability requirements.
Valid driver's license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver's license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit the employee's ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required by the position of assignment.
Successfully pass commission's written exam and oral board for park police officer candidates.
Medical and Physical Standards: Park Police Candidates must be able to successfully pass a medical examination based on the Commission's medical standards for Park Police administered by a Commission approved medical physician prior to appointment.
United States Citizen by birth or naturalization.
