General Statement of Job: This position independently operates ultrasound equipment to perform all obstetric and gynecologic and advanced maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) examinations in an outpatient clinical setting. The technologist performs routine and high-risk obstetric imaging, including nuchal translucency (NT) and fetal echocardiography (fetal echo) studies, in accordance with AIUM-accredited protocols. The technologist provides direct patient care, ensures accurate diagnostic imaging for providers, and supports high-quality prenatal and women's health services.
Essential Functions:
Performs and manages the full range of routine and high-risk OB ultrasound procedures, including, dating, nuchal translucency (NT), detailed fetal anatomy, growth and biophysical profiles.
Performs advanced MFM and fetal echocardiography studies.
Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasound to detect normal or abnormal results.
Maintains ultrasound inventory for ultrasound exams and prepares room for exam.

Assists patients with mobility needs within the clinic setting.
Complies with staffing and on call rotations as required.
Maintains equipment through proper care and maintenance. Makes minor adjustments, and performs routine cleaning and preventative maintenance. Inspects and disinfects probes prior to each exam. Reports any equipment malfunction to the Manager of Radiology.

As an UltrasoundTechnologist, you will provide clear and accurate images to help physicians assess and diagnose various conditions. Working with fellow department and medical staff, you will help facilitate a calming and welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable, safe and educated throughout their exams. You will also ensure equipment is properly maintained and sterile to promote efficient delivery of care. Every day, your ability to put patients at ease, offer a compassionate demeanor and facilitate open communication can enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience.
This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working day/evening/night/weekend shifts between 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Perform routine imaging, emergent and invasive procedures to detect pathology.
* Safely operate equipment and maintain standards while performing procedures.
* Provide copies of imaging studies.
* Complete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination.
* Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation and contact service if necessary.
* Document in charts upon completion of procedures.
* Maintain adequate supplies in the work area.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
* American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered or board eligible
* American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 18 months of hire
* Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
* Knowledge of federal and state regulations
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Two years of experience as a Sonographer in an acute care imaging setting
Physical Requirements:
* This position requires a mixture of moderate to heavy work as defined in the Employee Health Services Policy.
* Physical requirements include frequent walking, sitting and standing.
* Frequent use of the phone, computer and fax machines.
* Frequent pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching.

* Confidentiality: Has limited access to the medical record for the purpose of verifying orders in the charts or prescription and to sign off after exam completion.
* In addition, in this position the employee will be limit the PHI disclosed or requested to the amount reasonable necessary to achieve the purpose of the request.
* The disclosures or requests that occur on a routine or recurring basis include every patient's orders need to be verified prior to the exam.
* The employee makes these disclosures for the purpose of making sure that the correct exam is performed due to the doctors orders as well as signing off that the exam was completed of the request.
