SMBC Capital Markets Inc is hiring a software engineer in the software development group. The position will support the XVA simulation analysis for XVA desk, trading desk, product analysis, as well as research departments in both New York and London office.

SMBC Capital Markets, Inc. is a market maker for swaps, including interest rate, currency and commodity swaps and related derivative products, headquartered in New York as a wholly-owned subsidiary of SMBC. SMBC Capital Markets, Inc. was provisionally registered as a swap dealer with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on December 31, 2012. Our business works in close collaboration with SMBC Nikko Capital Markets, Capital Markets Limited in the UK, and SMBC Capital Markets Asia, Ltd in Hong Kong to provide global coverage to SMBC's corporate, institutional, and project clients. Capital Markets maintains its own middle and back-office functions, including Risk Management, Compliance, Systems, Finance, and Operations.
Responsibilities
This role will be part of the XVA dev team that supports the XVA simulation analysis for the XVA desk. This role will take responsibilities of supporting both the in-house and external software solutions for the daily XVA analysis. They will troubleshoot any issue with the production environment to ensure the solutions meet the SLAs. This role will be responsible of implementing new products or functionalities in both in-house and external software solutions to support the XVA desk and other front, middle office's specifications and requirements. This role will be involved in larger projects of building a new XVA simulation platform. They will need to be a quick learner and be adaptive. This role will work collaboratively with business users to assist and provide answers to Credit risk analysis related enquiries.
Qualifications

4+ years of practical work experience involving system architecture and software application and message and data transfer and processing. Be able to provide implementation on new products as well as troubleshooting on existing models.
Be well-versed in software implementation. Proficient programming language such as C/C++, C#/.NET, Python; ability to automate processes via scripting language(s). And have an active interest in other computing technology and tools.
Have a solid background and work experience with mathematical finance and strong analytical and quantitative skills, especially in the financial products and XVA, credit risks area.
Have the maturity to solve problems directly and independently. Strong solid analytical skills for diagnosing and troubleshooting potential system issues; Sharp mind to process solution with quick turn-around.
Must be a good team player to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
Have an excellent communication skills. Ability to provide summaries and explanations of technical issues verbally or in writing providing the backing details as needed.
Have a strong work ethic. Ability of multi-tasking. Ability to prioritize work and to deliver.
Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Operations or comparable discipline is desirable. Proficient coding skills and a good level of understanding of the financial products, business logic within the CM scope.

Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

+ 20 years of professional experience, including experience developing and delivering infrastructure or enterprise products or services, both through initial launch and iterations.

+ 10 years of experience leading, mentoring and growing a team of engineers and other technical team members.

Preferred qualifications:

+ Experience in developing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with engineering counterparts, with overlapping yet divergent priorities, through collaboration and negotiation.

+ Experience leading technical teams of 300 or more, managing across a range of skills commensurate with team size, including experience leading large infrastructure transformations.

+ Industry peer-acknowledged technical expertise (e.g., published author of technical book/chapter/article, speaker at technical conferences).

+ Deep technical expertise in a systems area (e.g. storage, networking, compute, O/S) with the ability to communicate effectively in a technical review with senior technical engineers.

+ Expertise in finance and program management.

As Vice President, Engineering, Software Infrastructure, you will lead an infrastructure engineering team of hundreds of engineers building Google's next generation service management software stack for all of Google's systems, software, and infrastructure. + Lead a large software engineering organization developing key infrastructure services used across Google.

+ Work across all Google product areas to anticipate future service management needs and incorporate them into a well-considered multi-year product roadmap.

+ Promote Google's service management innovations and technology into the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) so that GCP customers may benefit from your teams' innovations and successes.

+ Align and converge Google's technology stack in order to balance feature velocity, service availability, and operating expense.

Job Summary and Opportunity

As our VP of Software Engineering you will be responsible for designing and implementing projects to enhance and improve our digital banking platform, in line with our product roadmap and delivery schedule. This is a hands-on role where the ideal candidate will have an architect's mindset, and will be responsible for a portfolio of applications across the enterprise. Your ideal experience will be 10+ years' of full-stack .NET development; designing interactive web applications, developing web services (REST/SOAP), and integrating with vendor APIs, while managing teams. This position may be 100% remote depending upon your current location.

Responsibilities

• Work with IT leadership to define and architect functional and non-functional requirements across the enterprise portfolio
• Design and prototype enterprise-wide solutions with a focus on security, performance, continuous integration and code quality (unit and integration tests)
• Communicate and collaborate with other development managers
• Identify and implement opportunities to continuously improve the Bank's development capabilities
• Refactor codebase to realize just-in-time design within the contextual design
• Work closely and communicate proactively and effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant field
• 10+ years' of full-stack .NET development; designing interactive web applications, developing web services (REST/SOAP), and integrating with vendor APIs
• 5+ years' as a tech lead and/or manager
• Use of source control tools like Azure DevOps, TFS, Git, etc.
• System integration over HTTP, Rabbit MQ or other distributed technologies
• Unit test creation using VS Tests, NUnit, etc.
• Financial services and/or consumer banking industry experience
• Exceptional work ethic, comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and the ability to independently manage a workload with multiple priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical
• Proficiency with the following technologies: .NET framework, C#, Java, JavaScript, MVC, Angular 2, Type Script, jQuery, SQL Server, RabbitMQ, Swagger Docs
• Proven ability designing and implementing responsive SPA's
• Strong understanding of Agile methodology/concepts

Preferred:

• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
• Experience deploying cloud solutions
