Job Description

Position Overview
As Vice President, Project Management - Transmission, you will lead the project management for the planning and construction for Invenergy's long-distance AC and DC transmission projects.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading major infrastructure or capital projects with complex schedule, budget and commercial structuring considerations, as well as building successful teams.

Responsibilities


Build and lead an internal team to manage projects Build initial project schedules and capital budgets and oversee schedule of projects and budgets through completion Structure the engineering, procurement and construction approach from generation POI to delivery POI (AC transmission, AC switchyard and converter stations, DC line) Manage EPC parties during construction Present to counterparties, investors, lenders and other stakeholders about the project Collaborate with internal engineering, project controls, environmental, procurement, development and legal teams to drive projects from advanced development through construction to commercial operation


Required Qualifications



Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline 15+ years of project management experience with 10+ years leading major infrastructure or capital projects Excellent presentation skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate about the project under pressure to counterparties, investors, lenders and other stakeholders Extensive contracting and project structuring experience, preferably for projects with multiple scopes of work, long schedules and multiple critical interfaces. Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and manage a team of direct reports Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization Able to travel up to 25% of the time


Preferred Qualifications



MBA or other advanced degree Specific experience in long linear infrastructure projects (eg transmission and/or pipeline) Engineering skills to understand the performance needs of projects and for issue resolution

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

USA Job Function Description: Manages and implements internal or external IT projects or programs with a defined start and end. Leads team members from various job families through a defined project life cycle. Plans, develops, coordinates and assists with project activities through all project phases (e.g., project planning, execution, communication, financial management and issues/risk mitigation). Allocates, obtains and manages resources and project management tools to achieve project objectives. Creates and implements assessment processes to enforce timely completion of projects in accordance with standards and requirements.

Essential Functions/Responsibilty Statements:
Develops detailed project plans and schedules application/infrastructure projects, works closely with business analysts, developers and QA to execute the project.
Manages the project lifecycle from initiation through to program closure.
Manages and resolves risks, issues and dependencies.
Leads and provides direction and guidance for a wide array of activities associated with project planning and management to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to client specifications.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Work Experience: 9-12 years ; Experience with technology or financial services industry is strongly preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of SDLC, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate technical designs, project issues, and project status is required.
Experience supporting customer facing, high-volume, mission critical applications strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project commitments to achieve quality solutions.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead project resources.
Proven ability to adhere to software project management best practices.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills.

The AVP Project & Process Management is responsible for directing high impact enterprise level projects that are both technical and non-technical in nature. Utilizing project management techniques, is accountable for the long-term strategy and development of project strategies and plans. The position is responsible for establishing and managing a project management structure and process for large, cross-functional, IT technical projects, as well as non-IT projects, in order to cost effectively meet operational business objectives. This position oversees the team responsible for project management of multiple such projects focused on areas such as business analysis, IT Development, systems implementation and more.

What you will do:

* Oversees team that works closely with business unit clients to coordinate major schedules, project budgets, project milestones, and ultimate project deliverables.
* Role includes responsibility for general and technical project/program management, in which work requires in depth knowledge of the project/business requirements, and general technical knowledge which requires foundational knowledge in the specific area to advise on scope changes, QA and other more technical aspects of the project.
* Evaluates the resources needed to accomplish the objectives within the agreed time frame and establishes the staffing plan for each project, using a combination of internal and contract expertise.
* Utilizes complex Project Management methodologies to oversee the management of projects, incorporate and track changes, and optimize on resource deployment.
* Responsible for team that conducts operational and leadership level meetings throughout the course of the project to provide feedback and get input from key stakeholders.
* Planning, organizing, and controlling resources/processes to achieve project objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints.
* Develops, adapts and executes strategies to achieve key business objectives in area of responsibility. Decisions are guided by organization and functional strategies and objectives.
* Develops and drives strategy regarding enterprise wide complex programs/projects that have multiple interrelated projects to achieve company goals and strategic visions
* Provides leadership and direction to subordinate Directors, Project Managers, and other professionals.

What you will bring:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, Masters Preferred.
* This position requires 10+ years of progressive delivery and management of IT and non-IT programs and projects
* PgMP Certification
* Experience managing a team of Directors and various levels of program and/or project managers
* High level communication skills necessary to build commitment to the projects and negotiate compromises, and resolve conflicts, as needed.

The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
