Duties:
* Manages the workflow in the Office of the Vice President (VP) for Instruction and Student Services so matters are handled in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.
* Coordinates all functions under the VP's authority, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in analyzing workflow to ensure efficiency.
* Performs master scheduling for the VP and the VP's staff, including ensuring that deadlines are met. Plans, organizes and coordinates regular staff meetings.
* Acts as an authorized representative in the VP's absence and uses initiative and judgment to ensure that matters requiring attention are referred or handled in a timely manner.
* Maintains/revises/updates publications that originate in the VP's office.
* Coordinates curriculum development efforts, including documentation and revision of curriculum development, guidelines to ensure compliance with VCCS, SCHEV and SACSCOC guidelines.
* Ensures that actions involving courses and programs are published or removed from publications as appropriate.
* Provides staff support to the college's Curriculum and Instruction Committee.
* Researches and compiles information for meetings and reports related to the existence and success of academic programs to the VCCS and SCHEV.
* Coordinates the submission and approval of industrial advisory committees for the academic divisions.
* Composes, edits and finalizes routine and non-routine correspondence.
* Coordinates the preparations of the Dean's List, including preparing notifications to students, developing certificates and mailing.
* Provides support for procurement, records management and various reporting requirements.
* Develops office procedures for the VP's consideration, which address existing or potential problems and promote work efficiency in the organization.
* Assists with planning and coordinating college events.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Virginia Western is located on a 70-acre campus in southwest Roanoke, VA. The service region of the College includes Roanoke, Salem, Roanoke County, Craig County, Franklin County, and southern Botetourt County. The College was established in 1966 and has grown from an initial enrollment of 1,352 to its current annual enrollment of over 9,000 students in credit courses and more than 1,400 enrollments in fast-track workforce and continuing education courses.
The purpose of this position is to provide instruction and supervision in a laboratory setting to students enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program in the School of Health Professions at Virginia Western Community College. In addition, lab instructors may be asked to assist with mentorship, orientation, and/or remediation.

Position Summary:

Virginia Western Community College is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to serve as the TRIO Project Director for our Student Support Services Program which offers eligible students (e.g., first-generation, low-income, documented disability) additional support to achieve academic success. The Director for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) provides strategic, mission-aligned leadership for a federally funded student success initiative designed to support first-generation, low-income, and disability-eligible students. This position leads all program operations, which include administration, compliance, supervision, assessment, and student success efforts, to ensure a high-quality student experience and the fulfillment of grant performance objectives. The Director serves as a campus leader and student advocate who fosters collaborative partnerships that strengthen access, retention, and completion outcomes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Provide leadership and direction for the TRIO/SSS Program in alignment with federal regulations, institutional goals, and the approved Plan of Operation.
* Review applications, verify eligibility, determine academic needs, and make final determinations for student acceptance into the SSS program, followed by the assignment of students to Academic Success Coaches.
* Prepare, certify, and submit all required U.S. Department of Education (DOE) reports by established deadlines, and maintain open communication with the DOE Program Officer and the college's Grants Office.
* Manage the program budget, authorize expenditures, reconcile fiscal records, and ensure responsible stewardship of grant and college resources.
* Develop, implement, and assess program evaluation procedures, using data to support continuous improvement and stronger student outcomes.
* Conduct intake interviews with prospective and newly admitted participants and explain program services and expectations.
* Provide holistic academic and career advising, including guidance on curriculum choices, course planning, and major exploration.
* Determine the need for placement testing and coordinate referrals when appropriate.
* Guide students through the financial aid process, including application assistance and understanding available resources.
* Manage a caseload of approximately 25-40 students and monitor academic progress through Navigate and ongoing advising sessions.
* Work collaboratively with students to develop individualized goals and educational plans that emphasize time management, effective use of campus resources, resilience, and problem-solving.
* Administer and interpret academic and career assessments to support major and career decision-making.
This is a restricted faculty position dependent upon the conditions of the federal TRIO grant under the Department of Education. Funding for this position has been secured through August 31, 2030.

In partnership with the President, NRCC's chief fundraising officer, the Executive Director serves as the College's senior advancement administrator, leading the Educational Foundation and setting multi-year strategy and annual plans that grow private support for scholarships, student success initiatives, academic programs, equipment, and capital priorities. Working alongside those stakeholders, the Executive Director personally manages a portfolio of major donors and prospects; aligns fundraising objectives with college strategy; and ensures best-practice development operations, including prospect research, moves management, gift processing, stewardship, and reporting.
In addition, the Executive Director provides executive leadership to the Foundation Board, including agenda planning, board development and education, committee support, and policy and bylaw stewardship. The role includes managing the Foundation's finances and investments in coordination with external advisors and College finance partners; overseeing budgeting, audits, and regulatory compliance, and preparing routine financial and impact reports for the board and the College.
As a member of the President's senior leadership team, the Executive Director collaborates with the executive leaders of the College's other units to elevate philanthropic priorities, align messaging, and integrate donor-supported initiatives with enrollment, completion and workforce outcomes.
