The Position:
We're looking for an Experienced Operator in Milling Equipment, responsible for operating several types of power construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This equipment is specific to, but is not limited to, utility milling machines (concrete or asphalt), skidsteer, belly brooms, pulverizers/recyclers, etc.

We're looking for a Yard Laborer/Forklift Operator to work at our Waukesha shop. Under the direction of the Shop Foreman, the Yard Laborer will support various people and departments, and will also provide support by moving concrete forms, pipe parts, and keeping the yard organized.

The Position:
We're looking for a Field Welder responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling components supporting aspects in the layout and construction of bridges and related structures and other duties assigned by the Foreman or other management.

The Location:
This position will require travel throughout the state of Wisconsin and potentially other neighboring states such as Minnesota and Michigan.
The Candidate:
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Must be punctual and dependable.
Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.
Be willing and capable of working in a physically demanding job.
Member of a Local Laborer Union, or willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is not required prior to employment. Our Human Resources Department is available to assist in that process if needed.
State certified in D1.1/D1.5 or the ability to get the certification(s).
2 years prior bridge construction experience and/or steel fabrication experience.

The Position:
We're looking for a Mechanic Intern to work and learn at our Waukesha, WI maintenance and repair facility. Under the direction of the Shop Foreman, a Mechanic Intern is responsible for the beginning stages of repair and maintenance of trucks, cars and heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This will be a part-time position.
Role and Responsibilities:
Determines machine or vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts
Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures
Corrects deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units
Verifies proper performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repair logs
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; initiating repairs
Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications
Use mobile service truck to perform service calls on equipment in the field
Performs other related duties as required and assigned
The Candidate:
Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in local tech schools, with a focus on Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Heavy Truck, or Diesel Engines.
A valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
Strong technical understanding, good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness
Adaptable to new equipment and a willingness to learn and be trained
Must be a motivated, punctual and dependable self-starter with good communication skills
Be able to tolerate and work in typical heavy shop environment as part of a large team
Prior work experience working on heavy duty trucks and cars is a plus
Experience welding and/or fabricating is also a plus
